Chapter 1:
Introduction
The guide is provided as a companion to the Kazeon Information Server-ECS IS1200
User and Configuration Guide. The Kazeon Information Server-ECS IS1200 User and
Configuration Guide should be read first as it contains most of the basic IS1200 server
setup and maintenance information on which this guide builds.
About the Kazeon Information Server
The Kazeon Information Servers are integrated hardware and software systems that
provide information management solutions enabling organizations to efficiently and
cost effectively classify, manage, and retrieve data. They provide consistent
information visibility and control across distributed files, minimize the risk of un-
managed files, integrate seemlessly with existing infrastructure, and scale to support
billions of files for searching, reporting, backup search and recovery, and file
migration and archiving.
Extending Server Functionality
The Kazeon Information Server’s standard functionality can be expanded with
optional add-on modules like the Connector for Microsoft Exchange Server. The
Exchange Connector module requires an additional license for the Kazeon
Information Server and allows the IS1200 to perform crawls of Microsoft Exchange
Servers as well as searches, reports, and applying Actionable Services.
Microsoft Exchange Server Background
The Microsoft Exchange Server is a messaging and collaborative software server
system from Microsoft. As part of the Microsoft line of server products, it is widely
used by corporations using Microsoft solutions. Exchange offers electronic mail,
calendaring, contacts and tasks, and support for mobile and web-based access to
information, including and supporting data storage.

email capabilities:
zClassification and indexing of email and attachments located on registered
Microsoft Exchange servers, including calendars, contacts, and notes.
zPerforming searches and reports on Exchange Servers
zApplying Actionable Services to emails and attachments found as search or report
results

Exchange Server Implementation Overview
Exchange Server Integration is available only on the ECS version of the Kazeon
Information Server. Exchange Server Integration may be included in a new Kazeon
Information Server IS1200-ECS installation, or added to an existing ECS installation
(ECS versions 3.0.3 or better).
If the Exchange Connector optional module was ordered along with the original
Kazeon Information Server purchase, the appropriate optional module license was
automatically included in the server master license and is routinely installed along
with the server license. If the Exchange Connector module was purchased after the
original installation, the Exchange Connector module license must be added to the
installation before module configuration can occur. See the Installing License Keys
chapter of the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide for
details on obtaining and installing optional modules licenses for existing installations.
Exchange Server Implementation In New Installations
The Exchange Connector module software is automatically installed with all Kazeon
Information Server-ECS installations, the Exchange Connector license simply
activates it. Exchange Connector can not be used with the Kazeon Information
Server-SA or Kazeon Information Server-FRM versions.
To use an Exchange Connector module purchased with a new installation, simply
follow the standard hardware and software installation and configuration instructions
in the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide and th en use
the rest of this guide to configure the module options.
MS Exchange Server Implementation In Existing Installations
If the Exchange Connector license is obtained after the original Kazeon Information
Server installation, use the following general steps to implement the Exchange
Connector. The following steps assume the Kazeon IS1200 and the Microsoft
Exchange Servers are already setup according to Kazeon and Microsoft approved
guidelines.
1. Add the Exchange Connector license to the IS1200. See the Installing License Keys chapter of the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration
2

Page 9
Exchange Server Implementation Overview
Guide for details on obtaining and installing optional modules licenses for
existing installations.
2. Ensure the Exchange Server is setup to Microsoft standards for all email user
accounts requiring classification. Supported Exchange versions include:
3. Add an IS1200 administrator account to an AD Server (in the same domain as the
Microsoft Exchange Server) with permissions allowing the IS1200 to authenticate
via the AD Server, and access all email accounts on the Microsoft Exchange
Server. See “Creating the IS1200 Service Account on the AD Server” on page 9
for details.
4. Setup a Kazeon Exchange Services (KES) server to work between the IS1200 and
the Microsoft Exchange Server and add the Kazeon Exchange Agent to KES. The
agent allows the IS1200 to register and access Microsoft Exchange Servers. See
“Installing and Configuring the KES Platform” on page 15 for details.
5. On the IS1200, add the new AD username and password (from step 3 above) as an
identity to the IS1200. See the The Identity Vault chapter of the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide for details on adding
identities.
6. On the IS1200, add new metadata filesystems for the Exchange Servers that will
be registered. See the Registering and Managing File Systems chapter of the
Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide for details on
adding metadata volumes.
7. Register the Exchange Servers with the IS1200 using the new identity created in
step 3. See “Chapter 3: Registering Exchange Servers” on page 23 for more
information.
8. Classify the Exchange Servers. See “Classifying Exchange Servers” on page 28
and the Job Scheduler chapter of the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide for details on scheduling classification services.
9. Search, or run Reports, to lo cate emails or attachments of interest on the Exchange
Servers. See the Searching for Information and Using Reports chapters of the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide for details on
searching and reporting.
10. Use Actionable Services on search or report results. See “Applying Actionable
Services to Exchange Server Search or Report Results” on page 30 and the
Actionable Services chapter of the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and
Configuration Guide for details on applying actionable services to search or report
results.

MS Exchange Server
(KES)
Establishing Communications Between Exchange and IS1200
To enable the Kazeon Information Server to access a Microsoft Exchange Server for
services such as crawls, searches, and reports, a special application called the Kazeon
Exchange Server Agent (ES Agent) must be installed to manage communications
between the Exchange Server and the IS1200. The agent’s processing power needs
require a dedicated computer platform. The dedicated platform, with the agent
installed, provides Kazeon Exchange Services (KES).
The diagram below shows the communication relationships between the system parts.
Deployment Configurations
The Kazeon Exchange Connector can be deployed in a domain with either single or
multiple Exchange servers (multiple servers are typically configured with a single
front-end server providing a common namespace for multiple back-end servers).
Regardless of configuration, the Exchange Connector treats each Exchange server as
an individual repository and interacts directly with the back-end servers.

Installation Overview
To install the Kazeon Exchange Connector, the following basic steps are required:
1. Start with functional Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Exchange, and Kazeon
IS1200 servers.
|The AD server must be setup to Microsoft standards,
see the Microsoft documentation for details.
|The Microsoft Exchange server must be setup to Microsoft standards as well,
and use the same AD server for email user authentication, see the Microsoft
documentation for details.
|The IS1200 must be able to communicate with the KES server over the
network.
|The KES server and the Exchange server must be in the same domain.
2. Create a service account on the AD server for the IS1200, see “Creating the
IS1200 Service Account on the AD Server” on page 9 for details.
3.
Setup the KES server and install the Kazeon Exchange Services Agent (ES Agent)
See “Installing and Configuring the KES Platform” on page 15 for details.
.
4. Configure the KES server to use the account (setup in step 2 above) to access the
Exchange Servers. See “Configuring the KES Server to Use the Service Account
to Access the Exchange Server” on page 16 for details.

below for details.
6. Setup and test the IS1200 for communications with the KES server. See “Testing
the IS1200 Connection to the KES Server” on page 21 for details.
Once the communication requirements are in place, metadata repositories for the
Exchange Servers must be created and registered with the IS1200, the Exchange
servers themselves must be registered, and then the Exchange servers must be
classified before searches and reports can be run on the files and email they contain.
The minor workflow differences, between registering, classifying, and searching or
reporting on Exchange Servers and doing the same on standard file systems are
covered in “Chapter 4: Workflow Changes for Exchange Servers” on page 27.

Chapter 3:
Registering Exchange Servers
The procedure for registering a Microsoft Exchange server is slightly different then
registering an NFS or CIFS filer . First, see the Registering and Manag ing File Systems
chapter of the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide for
general information on registering file systems, then return here for specific
information on registering Exchange servers.
Before Exchange servers can be registered, the Exchange Connector must be installed
on a Kazeon Exchange Services (KES) server, and configured to communication with
both the IS1200 and the Exchange server. See “Chapter 2: Establishing
Communications Between Exchange and IS1200” on page 5 for details.
Registering Metadata Repositories for Exchange Servers
As with any repository, a metadata file system must first be registered and available
before an Exchange server can be registered. Because Exchange servers can contain
large amounts—terabytes—of data, a single dedicated metadata fil e sy stem sh oul d b e
created for each Exchange server that will be registered.
Metadata file systems for Exchange servers are created and registered just like any
other metadata file system. See the Registering and Managing File Systems chapter of
the Kazeon Information Server IS1200 User and Configuration Guide for general
information on registering metadata file systems.
Before continuing, create and register a metadata file system for each Exchange server
that will be registered.
Registering an Exchange Server with the IS1200
To classify—or otherwise access—files or email on Exchange, you must first register
the Exchange server as a repository on the IS1200. Once the Exchange server is
registered, its reference name appears in all subsequent IS1200 job dialogs that allow
the user to select a file system to apply a service to.

Chapter 3: Registering Exchange Servers
Use the following procedure to register an Exchange server.
1. From Web-Admin click MS Exchange Server, under Repositories in the
navigation pane, the Add Repositories tab appears:
2. Fill in the following fields:
Repository Type: Should already be set to Exchange, if it is not, change it.
Name. Enter a reference name (for the IS1200 to use when listing this Exchange
filer in menus, for instance when specifying classification targets). File system
names must be unique.
WARNING!Do not re-register repository names that have been previously used and
removed with out first removing the metadata repositories that were associated
with the removed repositories.
Metadata Repository. S elect a metadata repository from the drop-do wn men u to
associate with the NFS file system, or let the IS1200 auto select one.
Exchange Options
Identity. From the drop-down menu, select the kazAdmin identity previously
created.
Exchange Server. Enter the Exchange server pathname to register as a repository.
This must be the server name and cannot be an IP address. If the host is not
registered with DNS, it should be added to local/etc/hosts.
Connector Server. Enter the pathname or IP address to the KES server created
and configured to access the Exchange server above.
Connector Port. Leave the default of 80 as is, unless your IS1200 Administrator
tells you differently.
Domain. Enter the domain name that the IS1200, the Exchange server, and the
KES occupy.
Process hard deleted messages. Check this option to crawl emails in user
accounts on the exchange server that are not visible to the user. For example,

emails deleted using Shift+Delete or by emptying the Deleted Items folder, this
kinds of emails are not visible are reside in the Exchange Server mailbox
dumpster. If the Exchange server retention time for these emails is low, this option
can be ignored.
Specify Use: Select one of the following:
|Source Repository: Leave this selected for Source Repository. This includes
the reference name (specified above) in all dialogs where a repository can be
chosen as a source, for example when doing a Collection in either Web-Admin

Chapter 4:
Workflow Changes for Exchange Servers
This chapter details the workflow changes required to work with Exchange servers as
repositories. Generally, using the IS1200 to work with an Exchange server is not much
different then working with other repositories.
Like other repositories, the Exchange server must first be registered and associated
with a metadata repository. Once registered, an Exchange server must be classified.
Exchange servers can only have deep crawls assigned.
After classification, searches and reports can be performed on Exchange servers just
as they are other repositories. There are no major workflow changes to the search or
reports procedures for Exchange servers in the W eb-Search or the Web-Reports GUIs,
but some minor changes are described in the following sections.
After searches and reports are performed, Actionable Services can be applied to
Exchange server results. Those changes are also described below.
The following sections detail the various GUI changes for Exchange servers.
z“Classifying Exchange Servers” on page 28
z“Searching and Reporting on Exchange Servers” on page 29
z“Applying Actionable Services to Exchange Server Search or Report Results” on
page 30
Before continuing in this guide, you should first be thoroughly familiar with the Job
Control and Scheduling: Classification Services chapter of the Kazeon Information
Server IS1200 Web-Based Search Interface Guide and the IS1200 Web-Search User
Guide and the IS1200 Web-Reports User Guide.

Classifying Exchange Servers
Only deep crawls are allowed on Exchange servers, basic crawls are not allowed.
To deep classify an Exchange server do the following:
1. From any Web-Admin page, click Jobs in the left navigation pane,
the Job Manager page opens.
2. From the Job Manager page tool-bar, click New and select Deep Crawl from the
drop-down list. The Deep Crawl tab opens.
3. Description. Optional, enter a description for the deep crawl.
4. Repository Type. Select the Exchange radio button.
5. Repositories. Click-to-select any
user mailboxes or folders in the available
listing (the left-hand scrolling list). Click the plus sign preceding the listing to
expand folders. Select either a mail box or folder, and click the Right Arrow
() button to add it to the list to classify (the right-hand scrolling list). Click any
mailbox or folder in the right-hand list, and click the Left Arrow () to remove
it from the list to be classified.

Searching and Reporting on Exchange Servers
6. If the Advanced Options header is clicked to expand it,
The standard Include/Exclude Filters for NFS/CIFS files are replaced by
Mailbox Filters and Folder Filters for Exchange Servers shown above.
When specifying what mailboxes or folder to include or exclude, you can enter
strings with wildcards, for example:
Include: t*
Exclude: A*
These strings are case sensitive and may not use bracketed RegEx expressions.
7. Fill out all other Job Scheduler pages and fields as described in the IS1200 Web-Admin User and Configuration manual to finish scheduling the deep crawl. Date
filters must be provided.
Increasing Classification Performance for PSTs
Some metadata tags for PST files are multi-valued, that is they may contain many
values in their tag/value pair. For example,
MailTo and MailCC may contain long
lists of recipients.
The standard classification process for inserting multiple values in multi-valued pairs
can slow down for lengthy insertion lists, and may be speeded up by specifying a
different insertion process. See the entry for d
elimit-attributes in the Table
“Types of Attributes for ‘set_schema’ CLI Command.” in the “Working with PST
Files” chapter of the IS1200 Web-Admin User and Configuration Guide for details.
Searching and Reporting on Exchange Servers
Exchange servers are searched using the Web-Search interface. See the IS1200 Web-
Search Configuration and User Guide for general information on using Web-Search. Reports can be done on Exchange servers using the Web-Reports interface. See the
IS1200 Web-Reports Configuration and User Guide for general information on using
Web-Reports.
Both searches and reports on Exchange servers are created and scheduled the same
way as searches and reports on other repositories.
Note:A new standard metadata field, mailBCC, is available to use in searches.

Chapter 4: Workflow Changes for Exchange Servers
Note:Kazeon's Exchange Server Connector indexes only email messages and
attachments (or composite objects containing email and attachments) on
Exchange servers and does not provide classification or indexing services (and
hence cannot search or report on) the following information on Exchange Servers:
zCalendars
zContacts
zNotes
zShared/Public folders on Exchange server
Applying Actionable Services to Exchange Server
Search or Report Results
After using searches or reports on Exchange servers, some Actionable Services can be
performed on the results. For complete information about using Actionable Services
see the Actionable Services chapter of the IS1200 User and Configuration Guide.
Generally, Exchange servers may not be selected as the targets of Actionable
Services, regardless of the result sources. In other words, neither search nor report
results from any kind of repository (Exchange or otherwise) can be copied or moved
TO an Exchange server.
When the target for an Actionable Service is not an Exchange server (for example an
NFS or CIFS repository), the following applies:
zFrom the Actionable Services Manage Files menu:
|Result files can NOT be moved from an Exchange server to another repository
|Result files can be copied from and Exchange server to another repository
|Result files can NOT be deleted, restored, or locked on Exchange servers
zResult files from Exchange servers can be Re-Classified
zResult files from Exchange servers can have new Metadata Tags or Policy Groups
added to the appropriate metadata repository
zResult listings from Exchange servers can be exported to XML or CSV files
zResult files from Exchange servers can be downloaded to other repositories as
PST files
Note:While some Actionable Services, like delete, cannot be applied to search and
report results from Exchange servers, the services still appear as options in the
Actionable services menu. This allows services to be applied across multiple
repositories (which may, or may not, be Exchange servers). If these services are
applied to Exchange repositories, the job will report failures.

Active Directory (AD)
Actions, Actionable Services
Access Control List (ACL)
Advanced Search
A technology created by Microsoft that provides a variety of network
services, including: LDAP-like directory services, Kerberos-based
authentication, and DNS-based naming and other network information.
Are procedures such as copy, move, delete, tagging, etc, that can be applied to
search and report results. They allow the IS1200 to be and effective file
management tool for registered repositories.
A file system level data file that specifies how users or groups may access
resources on a computer or network, like an application, file or printer, and the
rights they have to it, for example read access, write access, and so forth.
A search made from the Advanced Search link. Allows searching for
extracted metadata by tag-value pairs, and allows multiple variable and
boolean searches.
Assignment Rule
A classification rule that tags files with metadata and assigns files to policy
groups.
Auditing
A service that allows the IS1200 to record all system events according to who
did what, when, and the event result. This data is especially useful to Legal
Service Providers when providing an audit trail for responsive data produced
during eDiscovery.
Authorization Rule
A policy that filters search results to ensure that the assigned files can only be
viewed by authorized users.
35
Page 42
Glossary
Authentication
The process of identifying users based on user name and password to ensure
that only authorized users can access the Kazeon Information Server.
Basic Search

devices that host archival business file content such as email, office
productivity files (like word processing and spreadsheet files), images, and
other file documents.
CASID
A unique IS1200 ID for each classified file that the system generates during
basic classification.
Centera Server
The EMC Centera server is a networked storage system specifically designed
to store and provide fast, easy access to fixed content (information in its final
form). It is a CAS device providing long-term retention and assured integrity
designed to store and manage data that require or have legally mandated
retention periods, for example medical records and files relevant to legal
matters.
Celerra Server
An EMC server designed to store and manage archival data. The Celerra File
Level Retention (FLR) server also allows enforcing enterprise or
governmental retention policies.
Classification Rule
Rules that the system implements during data classification to extract
metadata, tag files, and assign files to policy groups. The two types of
classification rules are extraction rules and assignment rules.

Glossary
Data Verification
Builds on Auditing and is only available when system auditing is enabled. For
job services like Actionable Services Copy or Move, Legal Hold Copy, and
Single-Step Collections, Data Verification generates an audit trail proving that
files were not altered during these actions. This is especially valuable in
eDiscovery situations.
Deduplication
A process that identifies file duplicates based on their digest values. Digests
are numerical values that are calculated based on file contents and are unique
for all unique file objects. Digest values allow allow file objects to be
compared very quickly. Digests are calculated differently for standard files,
emails, and container objects. For standard files, a digest is computed for the
entire file much like a hash value, for email objects the textual content of the
file and certain specific addresses are combined and a digest value is
calculated from that, container objects are hashed both as a complete file and
as individual sub-objects.
Deduplication may be applied to export processes (Actionable Services like
Download, Export, and Copy) and classification and collection processes to
move only unique copies of files to a destination. When deduplication is used
a “manifest” list or report may be produced to list and identify all the
duplicates that were ignored in the export process, allowing all those
duplicates to be identified later.
If any object, or sub-object, cannot be properly parsed during classification,
no digest is produced for that object preventing duplicates of those objects
from being identified.
Reduplication may also be applied to tagging processes to allow a single file
copy to be reviewed, but apply metadata tags to all its copies.
Domino Sever (Lotus)
A Lotus server providing groupware solutions and storage.
Documentum Sever (EMC)
The EMC Documentum server manages business content including
documents, photos, video, medical images, e-mail, Web pages, fixed content,
XML-tagged documents, etc. The Documentum core is a repository that
stores content securely under compliance rules and appears as a unified
environment, even though content may reside on multiple servers and
physical storage devices within a distributed environment.
eDiscovery

Glossary
Filer
A file server that exports its file systems using NFS or CIFS protocol.
fullText
The “content” portion of a file, this is the textual content of word processing
files and message content for emails. The extraction fulltext rule is used to
save file content to metadata during classifications and saves up to 10
megabytes of content by default. This default may be changed, but it is not
recommended. Fulltext extraction is required for the Previewer pane to work
and to generate Concepts in the Results Grouping pane.
Groupware
Collaborative software designed to help people involved in common tasks
achieve their goals. Incorporates services such as email, calendaring, text
chat, wiki, web-sharing, document control, and advanced search.
Hash Values
Hash values are used to compare one file with another for duplicates.
An extremely simplified description of hashing is that the numeric values of
all bytes in a file are added into a grand total. The chances of two different
files yielding the same result (hash value) are remotely small, so hash values
can be used to identify duplicate files, or compare files with the same name to
decide if they have been modified.
Computing hash on an entire file is called a full-hash, and computing hash on
a portion of the file is called a partial-hash. A “partial hash” may also be used
to increase classification speed and “hashing” can be turned on, or off to
increase classification speed.
