STA RT-UP P ROCED URE
1 Be sure the c orrec t am ount of fi lter sand medi a is in
the tan k and all conn ectio ns h ave been made and
are s ecure .
2) Turn the Control Valve handle to the “Backwash” position .
Press the hand le downward before tur ning.
3) S tart the pump acc ording t o pump in structi on manua l
(be sur e all suctio n and return l ines are op en).
4) O nce w ater f low i s stea dy out the w aste line, run t he
pum p for at least 2 m inute s. Th e in itial back washi ng
of th e filte r is reco mmende d to remo ve any i mpuri ties
or fi ne sand p artic les in th e sand me dia.
5) Turn t he pu mp of f and set the c ontro l val ve to RINS E
pos ition . Sta rt pu mp an d ope rate until wate r in sight
gla ss is clear abou t ½ to 1 min ute. T urn p ump o ff, se t
valv e to F ILTER p osition and r estart pump. Your f ilter is
now operating in the normal filter mode, fi lteri ng pa rticl es
and d irt fro m the poo l water .
6) Tak e n ote of the ini tial pre ssure g auge rea ding for
fut ure refer ence. Va riati on m ay occur fro m p ool to
poo l.
7) Adjus t pool suct ion an d ret urn va lves to ac hieve
desi red flow. Check syst em an d fi lter for water leaks
and tig hten conn ections , bolts, nut s as require d.
