1. Pre parat ion of Yo ur Pool
Befo re asse mblin g and ins talli ng your c leane r, your p ool sho uld be
clea n and alg ae-fr ee so as no t to inhi bit the c leane r's tra ction . If
nece ssary , make th e follo wing pr epara tions b efore p rocee ding:
1) Che mical ly bala nce the p ool wat er.
2) Bru sh pool a nd let th e debri s settl e.
3) Han d vacuu m thoro ughly .
4) Cle an filt er and pu mp stra iner ba sket.

1) Tur n the poo l pump of f.
2) Cl ose the main dr ain an d all su ction lines , excep t the li ne fro m the
skim mer to wh ich the c leane r will be c onnec ted.
3) Rem ove ski mmer ba sket.
4) Pr ess th e 2" ho se con e into the va cuum c onnec tion i n the b ottom
of the s kimme r, as sho wn in fig ure 7.
5) Pres s th e a utoma tic regu lator val ve into the 2" Hos e C one. The
end of th e va lve t hat i s mar ked " Attac h Hos e Thi s End "must poin t
up. Se e Figur e 7.
6) Place the cl eaner int o th e po ol a nd a llow it to s ink to the floor .

IV. Ad justm ents
Afte r co mplet ing t he in stall ation , tu rn th e po ol pu mp o n. Al low the
pump to run fo r a coup le of mi nutes t o ensu re all ai r cycl es out o f the
syst em. t he cl eaner shoul d be movin g abou t the pool at a rate of 8
to 1 2 fe et p er mi nut e. C heck ea ch of the fo llow ing in itia l
adju stmen ts to the c leane r at this t ime.
Hose L ength
IMPO RTANT : The p ump m ust be on whe n you check the ho se len gth.
The hose cont racts whe n th e pum p is oper ating and will be long er
when t he pump i s off.
With th e c leane r o perat ing, pos ition it at the fu rthes t p oint of the
pool from where it's a ttach ed. ( It is easy t o posi tion the cl eaner the
pool b y movin g it abou t with yo ur pool p ole and b rush. ) the cle aner' s
hose shou ld be long enoug h to r each the e nd of the p ool, plus o ne
hose sec tion. If ne cessa ry, re move e xtra hose sect ions f rom t he
cent er port ion of hos e. R emovi ng cent er h ose sec tions a voids
havi ng to di sturb the ho se we ight pla cemen t. Sa ve ex tra h ose

Retu rn Line W ater Fl ow
IMPO RTANT : Th e wat er fl ow f rom y our retu rn li ne c an pu sh t he
clea ner's hose an d affe ct its perfo rmance . It ma y caus e the cl eaner
to st eer awa y from the e nd of th e pool w here t he retu rn lin e is
loca ted, o r it ma y cau se the clean er to r emain in one secti on of t he
pool . To c orrec t this , use the e yebal l dive rter inclu ded wi th you r the
clea ner.
To ins tall th e eyeba ll dive rter:
Firs t ma ke sure your poo l pu mp i s o ff. Remov e th e or igina l e yebal l
from t he retu rn line a t the poo l by unsc rewin g the loc k ring.
Repl ace the o rigin al eyeb all wit h the cle aner ey eball d ivert er.
Repl ace the loc k ring and ti ghten . M ake sure th e o penin g of the
eyeb all div erter p oints in the pr oper di recti on befo re tigh tenin g full y.

Chec k the cle aner' s hose to e nsure i t has not b ecome b ent or ki nked. I t
only t akes on e bent or k inked h ose sec tion to h inder t he clea ning
cove rage. O ne way to c heck fo r kinks i n your ho se is to la y each
sect ion fla t on your p ool's d eck (or o ther fl at surf ace). T he hose s hould
be per fectl y strai ght and f lat.
Do not c oil the h ose whe n takin g your th e clean er out of t he pool
beca use it wi ll reta in the co il shap e, form ing a ben d or kink .
To Rem ove Deb ris fro m the Fli pper
Some times d ebris m ay clog t he bott om of the c leane r and pre vent
Flip per mov ement o r restr ict flo w. The Fl ipper i s locat ed insi de the ma in
body a nd must m ove fre ely at al l times . You can s ee the Fl ipper
thro ugh the o penin g in the Fl ipper C over, w hen you t urn the c leane r
upsi de down a s shown i n Figur e 10. Jig gle the F lippe r with yo ur fing er or
flus h the cav ity wit h a hose to f orce ou t any deb ris lod ged ins ide the
main b ody.
If deb ris is st ill lod ged ins ide, yo u must re move th e Flipp er. Fir st, get r id
of fou r lids in t he Inte rleav er, uns crew it , and the n remov e it from t he
main b ody. In s ecess ion, ta ke out th e screw f rom pif fle pla te, pul l it out

fail ure. Th e exist ence of a ny of the se type o f condi tions i n your
pool i s not cau sed by th e use or op erati on of the c leane r. The
manu factu rer dis claim s any lia bilit y for rep airs or r eplac ement t o
any of t hese st ructu res or co mpone nts of th e custo mer's p ool.
