1 Important Safety Precautions
Always follow these basic safety precautions when using your device. This reduces the
risk of fire, electric shock, and injury.
• Do not expose this product to rain or moisture.
• Keep the device out of direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Protect the power cord. Route power cords so they are not likely to be walked on
or pinched by items placed on or against them. Pay particular attention to the
point where the cord attaches to the device.
• Only use the AC adapter included with the device. Using any other power
adapter voids your warranty.
• Do not remove the cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
2 Cleaning Your Device
CAUTION: Treat the screen gently to avoid damage.
To clean fingerprints or dust from the screen, it is recommended that a soft, nonabrasive cloth, such as a camera lens cloth, be used.

Power • If the device is OFF, press and hold the power
button for 3 seconds to power ON the device.
• If the device is ON, press and hold the power button
for 3 seconds and then tap OK on the screen to
power OFF the device.
• If the device is in SLEEP MODE, press and release
the power button quickly to turn sleep mode ON and
OFF.
• If the device becomes unresponsive, press and
hold the power button for 8 seconds to FORCE OFF
the device.
NOTE: It is not recommended to use the FORCE
OFF feature. Instead, follow the steps to perform a
RESET.

and then connect to the device to charge the battery.
Reset
• Press the reset button to RESET the device.
NOTE: The reset button does not restart the
device. Press the power button after the RESET
button to reboot and to power ON the device.

5 Setting Up Your eGlide 2 Tablet
Charge the device:
1 Plug the power adapter into an electrical wall outlet.
2 Connect the power adapter to the device’s power interface port to fully charge
the battery before use (approximately 4 hours).

Battery Management
The battery is not fully charged out of the box, so it is recommended you charge the
battery for at least 4 hours before you start to use the device.
The rechargeable battery is designed and manufactured to be used and recharged
frequently. As with all batteries, the capacity of the battery reduces each time it is
charged/depleted. However, you can still try to prolong the battery’s lifetime by following
the suggestions below:
• Use your Tablet at least once a week.
• Charge the battery regularly and fully.
• Never leave the battery fully discharged for a long period of time.
• Always keep the device and the battery away from heat.

NOTE: Since many features require a Wi-Fi Enabled connection, it is recommended
that the Wi-Fi Enabled network be set up with the first use of the device.

Transfer Box
NOTE: You must use the transfer box to connect to a USB storage device (U-disk)
for accessing/storing your photos, music, video, or eBook files, to connect to an Ethernet
network, or to connect to a 3G wireless network card.
To connect to a USB device:
1 Insert a USB device (U-disk) into the transfer box.
2 Insert the transfer box into the 24-Pin interface on the tablet.
CAUTION: Don’t insert and remove the U-disk repeatedly in a short time, as this
may cause damage to the U-disk.
To connect to an Ethernet cable:
1 Insert the transfer box into the 24-Pin interface on the tablet.
2 Insert the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet interface on the transfer box.
3 Observe the device has automatically accessed the network IP address as
indicated by the appearance of ETH in the status bar on the Desktop screen.
4 Tap the Ethernet icon to manually connect to an IP address.
ADSL Settings
1 Tap the ADSL Settings application icon .
2 Input a username and password.
3 Select Connect to access the broadband network.

NOTE: A 3G wireless network card (purchased separately) is required to connect
to a 3G network.

To connect to a 3G wireless network:
1 Insert the USB connector of the 3G wireless network card into the transfer box.
2 Insert the transfer box into the 24-Pin interface on the tablet.
3 Observe the bright lights on the 3G wireless network card, which indicate the
card is receiving power and is ready to begin connection to the 3G network.
4 Tap the 3G Settings application icon .
5 Tap Add 3G network.
6 Enter a Name for the 3G network in the name field of the pop-up dialog box.
7 Observe that the network device field is selected for you by the tablet.
