Owner’s Manual / Installation Guide
Congratulations and thank you for your purchase of Elura speakers. You have embarked on a listening and style
experience that will bring enjoyment to your home for years to come. The following instructions provide detailed
procedures for expert installation of Elura speaker systems for maximum performance.
Elura speakers have been carefully crafted for easy installation in a variety of residential applications. By following
these comprehensive steps you will soon enjoy the signature sound that is the hallmark of all Elura audio products.
PRELIMINARY INSPECTION
Your Elura speakers left our factory after rigorous manufacturing process control and nal inspection. Carefully
unpack your new speakers and inspect for any damage that may have occurred during shipment or subsequent
handling.
For best performance, we recommend you use at least 16 gauge speaker wire. For new home construction, wiring
will generally be done prior to the installation of the siding, and should already be in the desired location. For
installation in existing construction we recommend you consult an expert installer. Be sure to pull wires by the
most expedient and ecient route.
We have tried to make our installation guide as easy to follow as possible. Please take a little time to become
familiar with the contents to avoid unforeseen and irritating mistakes.
OPTIMUM SPEAKER LOCATION
Depending on available locations it is best to place speakers approximately 12’ from one another. Proper spacing
will improve sound imaging. Consider the outdoor environment and listening area while selecting your primary
listening area.
Note: Before installing your speakers, make note of the (inside wall) locations of lighting xtures, electrical wiring,
plumbing, HVAC ducting, or any other possible obstructions.
After you have selected the best speaker locations, locate the framing studs and avoid obstructions when mounting the speaker brackets. Elura outdoor speakers are designed to be installed in either a vertical or horizontal
position, depending on your preference. Either position will not likely aect acoustic performance signicantly.
However, try to avoid fastening the speaker brackets only to siding – mounting to framing studs will provide more
secure attachment. If you nd no obstructions, mount the speaker bracket with stainless steel or plated screws of
sucient diameter and length.
FINAL INSTALLATION
Recheck that connecting wires are present at the speaker locations you’ve chosen. You’re now ready for the nal
installation.
Elura outdoor speakers are shipped with the grilles attached to the enclosure. If you intend to paint your speakers
to match the house color, please refer to the detailed instructions below.

Elura speaker enclosures are constructed of rugged ABS plastic that will provide years of service without substantial deterioration from weather. Whenever possible, we recommend mounting the speakers under the house eve
(roof ) or overhang to protect from excessive sunlight and constant exposure to weather. After the brackets are
securely mounted to the exterior wall and wires are in position in the correct location, you are ready to install the
speaker enclosure to the bracket.
Place the speaker in the bracket and attach using the threaded nuts at each end and hand tighten. Connect the
positive and negative wires, making sure to observe polarity – usually wiring will correspond in color to the push
terminals, red to red (+) and black to black (-). After the wires are securely connected, rotate the speaker toward the
listening area.
PAINTING & COSMETICS
You may paint Elura speakers to match the exterior house color but we advise painting in a separate location prior
to installation. Always remove the grilles from the enclosure for painting, taking care to not clog the perforated
grille holes with excess paint. When painting the enclosure, cover the speaker front to avoid paint overspray on the
cone materials as this will eect acoustic performance. Replace the grilles when fully dried and proceed with nal
installation.
