About G4500 3G connection
G4500 Rev. 3 devices include a USB port that can be used for connecting a 3G USB
Modem, thus enabling access to the device over the Internet for both configuration
and data downloading via FTP.
This application note explains the configuration needed in order to enable above
functionality.
In this document, the TP-LINK TL-MR3420 was used. Some minor differences might be
needed in the case of using other routers.
Parts & accessories
G4500 Rev 3 device
USB Modem
Local Sim card (to be provided by your cell provider)
Connecting to the G4500 router
Power on your G4500 device
Connect the USB Modem with the Sim card to the G4500 USB port
Connect your Computer to the G4500 LAN1 port
Open the browser and connect to the internal router (Default IP is 192.168.1.254,
otherwise, check your default gateway)

Configure the Router
An "Authentication required" window will pop up (both username & password are
admin if default values were not change).
Go to "Network" 3G/4G and choose "Advanced"
Set APN, User & Password (As per Sim card provider instructions)

Save settings and go to "status" on the top left side in order to verify the Internet
connection and check your IP address
Once the connection is established, you should be able to connect to the Internet via
the G4500 device

G4500 Device configuration
Open a Telnet session and connect the Device:
Username: PQ4xx
Password: PQ4xxPQ4xx
Type: Prm_Debug_Set_int 0x1248, VALUE (where "value" is the first port on a range
of 5 sequential ports, on the below example, it is 3000).

Open the G4500 web interface and go to network in order to verify your LAN settings:
1) LAN1 should be set to DHCP disable.
2) Default gateway should be verified as the router's IP.
Ports configuration
Enable Remote management
At the router's web interface, go to Security Remote management and set the web
management port to 80.

In order to approach directly to the G4500 device, additional port configuration will be
needed.
Go to "Forwarding" "virtual servers" from the router web interface configure the
ports and enable as follows:
Access the device
Now the device should be available for you via the Internet.
Fetching Data from the device is possible by adding:
<port_number> to the ip address
(IP Address is available at the router's status page),
For example If your IP is 46.210.111.55, any remote access will be done as follows:
For file transfer via ftp (port 8021): ftp://46.210.111.55
For web configuration (port 8080): http://46.210.111.55
