INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
A qualied electrician should be used for all electrical connections and/or
installations.
DO NOT INSTALL THE FIXTURE IF YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO DO SO!
Fixture MUST be installed following all local, national, and country commercial electrical and construction codes and regulations. Before rigging/mounting the xture to any metal truss/structure or placing the xture on any surface, a professional equipment installer MUST be consulted to determine if the metal truss/structure or surface is properly certied to safely hold the combined weight of the xture, clamps,
cables, and accessories.
Overhead xture installation must always be secured with a secondary safety attachment, such as an
appropriately rated safety cable that meets all local, national, and country codes and regulations.
Fixture should be installed away from walking paths, seating areas, or areas where unauthorized personnel might reach the xture by hand.
NEVER stand directly below the xture when rigging, removing, or servicing.
If the unit is installed in a suspended or hanging conguration, it should be mounted using a mounting clamp (not provided), and afxing it to the mounting bracket that is provided with the unit. Always ensure that the unit is rmly xed to avoid vibration and slipping during operation. Always ensure that
the structure that you are attaching the unit to is secure and is able to support at least 10 times the
unit’s weight. Also, always use a safety cable that can hold 12 times the unit’s weight when installing the xture. The equipment must be installed by a professional, and it must be installed in a place where it is out of the reach of people’s grasp.
GENERAL SET UP
1. Open the shipping carton and carefully remove the unit from the shipping carton. Remove all the packing material from the device, paying special attention to the area around the nozzle.
2. Set the fog machine on a at dry surface. Remove the included bracket from the packaging and at- tach it to the sides of the fog machine using the supplied hardware. Please note that the bracket is
easily detachable and is not required for table-top usage. However, when the device is installed in
a suspended environment, use of the bracket is required.
3. Fill the fog uid reservoir with ADJ brand fog juice only, then replace the cap.
4. Firmly attach the remote control unit to the remote control socket located on the back of the unit.
Please note that devices for the EU market will have the remote hard-wired to the device.
5. Plug the unit into a power supply that meets the device’s voltage requirements. A red LED on the
remote control will illuminate, indicating that the device is warming up. Once the device is warmed
up, a green LED will illuminate on the remote (the red LED should also remain illuminated). This
indicates that the unit is ready to emit fog.
6. Press the button on the remote to emit fog. Refer to the Remote Operation section of this manual for detailed information.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
CLAMP MOUNTING
When installing this device suspended from a truss, make sure that the device hangs in a level position in order to prevent leakage from the uid reservoir. Be sure this xture is kept at least 0.2m (7.9in.) away from any ammable materials (decoration etc.).
Insert a mounting clamp of the appropriate rating through one of the holes at the top of the mounting bracket, then secure the clamp in place with a bolt of the appropriate rating. Always use and install a
safety cable of the appropriate weight rating as a safety measure to prevent accidental damage and/or injury in the event the clamp fails.
SAFETY
CABLE
ALWAYS ATTACH A SAFETY CABLE WHENEVER INSTALLING THIS FIXTURE IN A SUSPENDED ENVIRONMENT TO ENSURE THE FIXTURE WILL NOT FALL IF THE CLAMP FAILS.
10
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
RIGGING
Overhead rigging requires extensive experience, including but not limited to: calculating working
load limits, understanding the installation material being used, and periodic safety inspection of all
installation material and the fixture itself. If you lack these qualifications, do not attempt to perform the
installation yourself. Improper installation can result in bodily injury.
FIXTURE INSTALLATION
This device is fully operational in two different mounting positions: hanging in a level position from a truss, or set on a at level surface. Regardless of conguration, the device should be in a level position in order to prevent leakage from the uid reservoir. Be sure this xture is kept at least
0.2m (7.9in.) away from any ammable materials (decoration etc.). Always use and install the supplied
safety cable as a safety measure to prevent accidental damage and/or injury in the event the clamp
fails. Never use the carrying handles for secondary attachment.
FALLING FIXTURES CAN CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR SERIOUS EQUIPMENT DAMAGE! FOR THIS REASON, FIXTURES SHOULD BE INSTALLED AND INSPECTED ONLY BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL. DO NOT INSTALL THE UNIT IF YOU LACK THE QUALIFICATIONS TO DO SO, OR IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THE INSTALLATION SETUP OR LOCATION!
ALWAYS ATTACH A SAFETY CABLE WHENEVER INSTALLING THIS FIXTURE IN A SUSPENDED ENVIRONMENT TO ENSURE THE FIXTURE WILL NOT FALL IF THE CLAMP FAILS.
11
REMOTE OPERATION
Always be sure to maintain an adequate supply of fog juice in the uid reservoir. Running the
fog machine dry will result in pump failure and/or clogging, and is the most common cause of failure in fog and haze machines. We recommend use of ADJ brand fog juice only!
Remote Operation: Connect the Z-VG400EP-R remote to the fog machine. Please note the devices
for the EU market will have the remote hard-wired to the device. Once the machine is plugged in and turned on, a red power LED on the remote will illuminate to indicate that the device is receiving power
and warming up. Allow at least two to three minutes for the device to fully warm up, at which point a
green LED on the remote will illuminate, indicating the unit is ready to emit fog. To emit fog, simply
press and hold the button on the remote for desired length of time.
If the green LED is on and the unit does not emit fog after the button is pressed for 30 seconds, check that the uid tank has a sufcient amount of fog uid.
Caution: Disconnect from the power supply before removing or replacing the remote control unit.
12
FUSE REPLACEMENT
Disconnect the unit from its power source. Remove the power cord from the unit, then nd the fuse holder located inside the power socket. Insert a at-head screw driver into the power socket and gently pry out the fuse holder. Remove the bad fuse and replace with a new of the same rating (10A for the
120V version, or 5A for the 230V version). Please note that the fuse holder also has a holder for a spare fuse.
STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE
Store your device in a cool area only, and cover the device to prevent dust buildup. When storing for long periods of time, it is strongly advised to run the device at least once every 3-4 months, due to the
fact that long periods of inactivity can severely shorten the operational life of the device. Only run water
based fog juice through your device. Never run plain water, vinegar, or any other liquid solution through
your device, as running anything other then water based fog juice will seriously damage your device.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If you experience low fog output, pump noise, or no fog output at all, disconnect the device from power and discontinue use immediately. Do not continue to push the remote control’s activation button, as this may cause damage to the device. Check uid level, the external fuse or breaker, and remote con-
nection, and verify that the wall outlet is sending power. If none of these factors prove to be the cause of the problem, and the unit still fails to operate correctly, the unit may require service. Please contact customer support for further instructions. Please do not return the unit to your dealer without contacting
customer support rst.
