INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
A qualied electrician should be used for all electrical connections and/or
installations.
DO NOT INSTALL THE FIXTURE IF YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO DO SO!
Fixture MUST be installed following all local, national, and country commercial electrical and construction codes and regulations. Before rigging/mounting the xture to any metal truss/structure or placing the xture on any surface, a professional equipment installer MUST be consulted to determine if the metal truss/structure or surface is properly certied to safely hold the combined weight of the xture, clamps,
cables, and accessories.
Overhead xture installation must always be secured with a secondary safety attachment, such as an
appropriately rated safety cable that meets all local, national, and country codes and regulations.
Fixture should be installed away from walking paths, seating areas, or areas where unauthorized personnel might reach the xture by hand.
NEVER stand directly below the xture when rigging, removing, or servicing.
If the unit is installed in a suspended or hanging conguration, it should be mounted using a mounting clamp (not provided), and afxing it to the mounting bracket that is provided with the unit. Always ensure that the unit is rmly xed to avoid vibration and slipping during operation. Always ensure that
the structure that you are attaching the unit to is secure and is able to support at least 10 times the
unit’s weight. Also, always use a safety cable that can hold 12 times the unit’s weight when installing the xture. The equipment must be installed by a professional, and it must be installed in a place where it is out of the reach of people’s grasp.
GENERAL SET UP
1. Open the shipping carton and carefully remove the unit from the shipping carton. Remove all the packing material from the device, paying special attention to the area around the nozzle.
2. Set the fog machine on a at, dry surface. Locate the included bracket from the package and attach it to the sides of the fog machine using the supplied hardware. Please note: The bracket is an
optional accessory, and its usage is required when the fog machine is being installed in a
suspended or hanging conguration.
3. Fill the fog uid reservoir with ADJ brand fog juice only and then tighten the cap.
4. Firmly attach the remote control unit to the remote control socket on the rear of the unit.
5. Plug the unit in to a compatible power supply. At this time, the uid reservoir will glow red, indicating
that the unit is receiving power, and a greeb LED labeled “Heating” will illuminate to indicate that
the unit is warming up. Allow approximately 2 minutes for the fogger to reach normal operating temperature. When it has reached sufcient temperature, the “Heating” LED will turn off and another LED labeled “Ready” will illuminate. Please note that the reservoir will continue to glow red as long
as the unit is connected to power.
6. To emit fog, either press the remote button or use the manual button on the rear of the unit. See the Remote Operation section of this manual for operating instructions.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
CLAMP MOUNTING
To install this device in a suspended environment, insert a bolt of the proper weight rating through
the bottom of an appropriately rated mounting clamp as well as the mounting surface of the mounting
bracket, then fasten in place with a bolt of the appropriate rating. When installing this device suspended
from a truss, make sure that the device hangs in a level position in order to prevent leakage from the
uid reservoir. Be sure this xture is kept at least 0.2m (7.9in.) away from any ammable materials
(decoration etc.). Always use and install a properly rated supplied safety cable as a safety measure
to prevent accidental damage and/or injury in the event the clamp fails. The safety cable should be installed with one end looped around the mounting bracket, and the other end rmly anchored to a secure location on the mounting surface. Never use the carrying handles for secondary attachment.
MOUNTING
CLAMP
MOUNTING
BRACKET
ALWAYS ATTACH A SAFETY CABLE WHENEVER INSTALLING THIS FIXTURE IN A SUSPENDED ENVIRONMENT TO ENSURE THE FIXTURE WILL NOT FALL IF THE CLAMP FAILS.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
RIGGING
Overhead rigging requires extensive experience, including but not limited to: calculating working
load limits, understanding the installation material being used, and periodic safety inspection of all
installation material and the fixture itself. If you lack these qualifications, do not attempt to perform the
installation yourself. Improper installation can result in bodily injury.
FIXTURE INSTALLATION
This device is fully operational in two different mounting positions: hanging in a level position from a truss, or set on a at level surface. Regardless of conguration, the device should be in a level position in order to prevent leakage from the uid reservoir. Be sure this xture is kept at least
0.2m (7.9in.) away from any ammable materials (decoration etc.). Always use and install the supplied
safety cable as a safety measure to prevent accidental damage and/or injury in the event the clamp
fails. Never use the carrying handles for secondary attachment.
FALLING FIXTURES CAN CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR SERIOUS EQUIPMENT DAMAGE! FOR THIS REASON, FIXTURES SHOULD BE INSTALLED AND INSPECTED ONLY BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL. DO NOT INSTALL THE UNIT IF YOU LACK THE QUALIFICATIONS TO DO SO, OR IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THE INSTALLATION SETUP OR LOCATION!
11
Page 12
REMOTE OPERATION
Always be sure to maintain an adequate supply of fog juice in the uid reservoir. Running the
fog machine dry will result in pump failure and/or clogging, and is the most common cause of failure in fog and haze machines. We recommend use of ADJ brand fog juice only!
Caution: Always disconnect the device from power before removing or replacing a remote control unit.
All wired remotes should be connected to the controller port, as illustrated below.

REMOTE OPERATION
VFEP5R WIRED REMOTE
Connect the VFEP5R remote to the controller port on the fog machine. Plug the fog machine in and turn it on, and allow the unit to warm up for approximately 2 minutes. After the unit has reached oper-
ating temperature, the green LED on the remote will illuminate, indicating that the unit is ready to emit
fog. To emit fog, simply press the button on the remote for desired length of time. If the green LED is on and fog does not come out after holding the button down for 30 seconds, check the uid tank and verify that there is still uid in the tank.
VPEPT3 TIMER REMOTE (SOLD SEPARATELY)
This remote’s timer function allows for to be emitted at various intervals. The remote features three
(3) L.E.D.s that illuminate to indicate different functions.
The YELLOW LED on the left indicates that the timer is turned on and is activated. The timer func- tion allows fog to be emitted at designated intervals. Please note that the timer function is inactive when DMX mode is activated.
The RED LED indicates that continuous fogging is active.
The GREEN LED on the right is for manual fogging. Wait for the GREEN LED to light up, then press the button for manual fogging.
The remote also features two rotary knobs:
The Duration knob sets the timer duration (Length of fog output).
The Interval knob sets the fog output intervals (Length of time between fog output bursts).

REMOTE OPERATION
VFEPWR WIRELESS REMOTE
The VF1100 comes with an internal wireless receiver and wireless remote (VFEPWR). To use the
wireless remote, press button 1 on the remote when the fogger is ready to emit fog.
WIRELESS INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
For best results, position the xture so that the display screen is oriented in the direction of the transmitter device or remote. Wireless signal can penetrate walls, glass, metal, and most objects. However, there
are many factors that can effect and/or interrupt the wireless signal, including the presence of people.
Therefore, it is highly recommended to position the wireless antenna a minimum of 9.8ft (3m) above
audiences to ensure optimum and reliable wireless operation.
14
Page 15
FUSE REPLACEMENT
Disconnect the unit from its power source. Remove the power cord from the unit, then nd the fuse holder located inside the power socket. Insert a at-head screw driver into the power socket and gently pry out the fuse holder. Remove the bad fuse and replace with a new one of the same rating (10A 120V
or 5A 230V). Please note that the fuse holder also has a holder for a spare fuse.
STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE
Store your device in a cool area only, and cover the device to prevent dust buildup. When storing for long periods of time, it is strongly advised to run the device at least once every 3-4 months, due to the
fact that long periods of inactivity can severely shorten the operational life of the device. Only run water
based fog juice through your device. Never run plain water, vinegar, or any other liquid solution through
your device, as running anything other then water based fog juice will seriously damage your device.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If you experience low fog output, pump noise, or no fog output at all, disconnect the device from power and discontinue use immediately. Do not continue to push the remote control’s activation button, as this may cause damage to the device. Check uid level, the external fuse or breaker, and remote con-
nection, and verify that the wall outlet is sending power. If none of these factors prove to be the cause of the problem, and the unit still fails to operate correctly, the unit may require service. Please contact customer support for further instructions. Please do not return the unit to your dealer without contacting
customer support rst.
