Wartung des Weidezaungerätes

Herzlichen Glückwunsch – Sie sind nun Besitzer
eines Elephant Qualitätsweidezaungerätes.
Damit Sie viele Jahre Freude an Ihrem Elephant
Weidezaungerät haben, ist es wichtig, dem Produkt
die optimalen Bedingungen zu bieten.
Wenn das Gerät in Betrieb ist, kann es sowohl in
Räumen als auch im Freien betrieben und prob­lemlos schlechten Wetterverhältnissen mit starkem
Niederschlag und hohen Temperaturschwankungen
ausgesetzt werden. Das ist darauf zurückzuführen,
dass die “eigene” Aufheizung aus dem bescheidenen
Stromverbrauch des Geräts genügt, um die Elek­tronik frei von Feuchtigkeit zu halten.
Wenn das Gerät nicht in Betrieb ist, sollte es in
einem Raum mit konstanten Temperaturverhältnissen
aufbewahrt werden.
Sie dürfen den Weidezaungerät also nicht über
längere Zeit ohne Strom im Freien hängen lassen,
da Feuchtigkeit und Kondensat sehr schnell (vor
allem in der Winterzeit) die Leiterplatten und
Elektronikkomponenten zersetzen, und dadurch den
Weidezaungerät beschädigen.
Um Ihren Weidezaungerät zusätzlich gegen Wind und
Wetter zu schützen, dürfen Sie den Weidezaungerät
auch nicht mit bspw. einem Plastikbeutel abdecken,
da der Weidezaungerät dann nicht atmen kann.
In vielen Fällen entsteht dadurch Feuchtigkeit, die
zur Zersetzung der Elektronikkomponenten des
Weidezaungerätes innerhalb kürzester Zeit führt
(2-6 Monate).
Batteriezäune und mobile Zäune, die an Batterien
(mit Säuregehalt) angeschlossen werden, müssen
so geschützt werden, dass die Dämpfe der Batterie
nicht mit der Elektronik des Weidezaungerätes in
Berührung kommen.
Sofern der Zaun aufgrund oben Genanntem beschä­digt wird, entfällt der Garantie anspruch.

Maintaining your Electric Fence

Congratulations, you are now the owner of a high­quality Elephant Electric Fence.
To obtain the maximum benefit from your Elephant
Electric Fence for as many years as possible, it is
important that you give the product the best possible
operating conditions.
When the device is in operation it can run both
indoors and outdoors, and has no problems
withstanding difficult weather conditions with heavy
precipitation and significant temperature fluctua­tions. This is because the “inbuilt” heating from the
device’s modest power consumption is sufficient to
keep the electronic components free of moisture.
When the device is not in operation it should be
stored indoors under stable temperature conditions.
You must therefore not allow your electric fence
to hang outdoors for long periods without power,
as moisture and condensation will act very quickly
(particularly during the winter) to damage PCBs and
electronic components, which will thus destroy the

electric fence.
To give your electric fence extra protection against
wind and weather, you must not cover the electric
fence with, for example, a plastic bag. This will have
the effect that the electric fence is unable to breathe.
In many instances moisture will be created, with
the consequence that the electric fence’s electronic
components will be damaged in a very short time
(2-6 months).
Battery fences and mobile fences that are connected
to batteries (with an acid content) must be protected
so that steam from the battery does not come
into contact with the electronic components in the
electric fence.
If an electric fence breaks down because of the
above, the guarantee is rendered invalid.

Vedligeholdelse af Elhegn

Tillykke – du er nu indehaver af et Elephant
kvalitets-elhegn.
For at du kan have glæde af dit Elephant elhegn i
så mange år som muligt, er det vigtigt, at du giver
produktet optimale vilkår.
Når apparatet er i drift, kan det fungere såvel
indendørs som udendørs, og kan uden problemer
tåle vanskelige vejrforhold med kraftig nedbør og
store temperaturudsving. Dette skyldes at ”egen”
opvarmningen fra apparatets beskedne strømforbrug
er tilstrækkelig til at holde elektronikken fri for fugt.
Når apparatet ikke er i drift, bør det opbevares inden­for under konstante temperaturforhold.
Du må altså ikke i længere tid lade dit elhegn
hænge udenfor uden strøm, da fugt og kondens
meget hurtigt (specielt i vinter perioden) så vil være
medvirkende til at nedbryde printplader og elektroni­kkomponenter, og dermed ødelægge elhegnet.
For at beskytte dit elhegn ekstra mod vind og vejr,
må du ikke tildække elhegnet med fx. en plastic
pose, der bevirker at elhegnet ikke kan ånde. Der
opstår i mange tilfælde fugt med den følgevirkning
at elhegnets elektronikkomponenter nedbrydes på
meget kort tid (2-6 måneder).
Batterihegn og mobile hegn der tilsluttes batterier
(med syre indhold), skal beskyttes så dampene fra
batteriet ikke kommer i forbindelse med elektronik­ken i elhegnet.
Såfremt et elhegn går i stykker på grund af oven­stående, bortfalder garantien.

Skötsel av elstängsel

Grattis – du är nu innehavare av ett kvalitets
Elephant elstängsel.
För att du ska ha nytta av ditt Elephant elstängsel
i så många år som möjligt, är det viktigt att du ger
produktet optimala villkår.
När apparaten är i drift, kan den fungera både inom­och utomhus, och kan utan problem tåla olika väder
typer, som kraftig nederbörd och stora temperatur
svängningar.
Detta beror på att apparatens ”eget” beskedna

strömförbruk är tillräklig att hålla elektroniken fugtfri.
När apparaten inte är i drift, bör det förvaras inom­hus i konstant temperatur.
Du skall alltså inte låta ditt elstängsel hänga utomhus
i längre tid utan ström, då fugt och kondens väldigt
snabbt (speciellt i vinter perioden) vill medverka till
att nedbryta kredskort och elektronik komponenter,
och dermed förstöra elstängsel.
För att skydda ditt elstängsel extra mot vind och
nederbörd, får du inte täcka över elstängsel med
t.ex. en plastpåse, det måsta kunna andas. Det bliver
i många tillfällen fugt, med den effekt att elstängsets
komponenter nedbryts på mycket kort tid (2-6 mån).
Batteri stängsel och mobila stängsel som tillkopplas
batterier (med syra innehåll) skall skyddas så att
ångorna från batteriet inte kommer i kontakt med
elektroniken i elstängslet.
Skulle ett elstängsel gå sønder på grund av oven­stående bortfaller garantin.

Entretien de votre électrificateur

Félicitations ! Vous venez d’acquérir un électrificateur
ELEPHANT de haute qualité.
Afin de pouvoir profiter de votre électrificateur
ELEPHANT pendant de nombreuses années, il est
important que vous l’utilisiez dans des conditions
optimales.
Lorsqu’il est en service, l’électrificateur peut
fonctionner à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur et
résiste sans problème aux mauvaises conditions
météorologiques, avec de fortes averses et de
grands changements de température. Et ce, grâce au
chauffage « intégré » lié à la modeste consommation
de l’électrificateur, qui suffit pour maintenir le circuit
électronique à l’abri de l’humidité.
Lorsque l’électrificateur n’est pas en service, il
convient de le ranger à l’intérieur, à une température
constante.
Autrement dit, ne laissez pas votre électrifica­teur sans électricité à l’extérieur pendant une
durée prolongée : le cas échéant, l’humidité et la
condensation contribueront trés rapidement (surtout
l’hiver) à la dégradation des cartes de circuits
imprimés et des composants électroniques et donc à
l’endommagement de votre électrificateur.
Il est interdit de couvrir votre électrificateur à l’aide,
par exemple, d’un sac en plastique pour le protéger
d’avantage contre les intempéries. Le cas échéant,
cela empêcherait l’électrificateur de respirer.
Souvent, de l’humidité se forme et entraîne alors en
trés peu de temps (deux à six mois) une dégradation
des composants électroniques de l’électrificateur.
Les électrificateurs sur batterie et les électrificateurs
portables raccordés à des batteries (à acide) doivent
être protégés, afin que les vapeurs dégagées par
la batterie n’entrent pas en contact avec le circuit
électronique de l’électrificateur.
Tout endommagement de l’électrificateur découlant
des conditions décrites ci-dessus annule la garantie.

Installation of ELEPHANT Energizer

Before you start the installation of the controller
it is important that the instructions are studied
carefully. A correct installation is essential if you
want an optimal functionality of your Energizer.

Earth Connection

In order that your electric fence generates the
best possible shock, it is important that the
connection to earth is perfect. An earth rod is
usually 2 m long and produced in 20-25 mm
galvanised iron pipe. It is recommended that
the earth rod be inserted at least 1.5 m into
the earth. The connection from the energizers
earth clamp to the earth rod can be a piece of
galvanised fence wire. You can also use a high­voltage cable. Never use a standard electrical
cable. Secure the connection to the earth rod
with a stainless collar band or a stainless/
galvanised steel bolt.

The connection to the fence

If the Energizer is placed a long distance from
the fence, the use of high-voltage cable is
recommended to connect the fencing clip on
the controller to the wire connection.
Especially in tunnels or alongside buildings
high-voltage insulated fencing cable must be
used. Normal electric wire must never be used.

Testing your fence/earth connection

At least a 100 mtrs away from the earthing
system, measure with a digital voltmeter
(art. nr.:4002227) if the current is more than
3000 V. Create a short circuit by putting iron
posts against the fence-wire. If the current
measured on the earthing system is more than
300V more earthing rods need to be placed
(distance 3 mtrs). Repeat the test.

Possible faults

• Poor earth connection

• Poor wire joints

Poor insulators, especially on iron poles.
Spark flashover on a fence pole can often be
heard clearly.
If the connection to earth, wire joints and
insulators is in working order, you can assume
that the fence is generating an even current all
around the enclosure.

Guarantee

If your electric fence is not working properly,
you must dismantle it and return it to where
you bought it. Remember to bring your receipt.
Electric fences that are less than 3 years old
are repaired free of charge, on the condition
that the damage has not been caused by
unauthorised intervention or by the device
having been connected to an incorrect voltage.
The guarantee does not cover misuse, neglect
or lightening damage. There is no guarantee or
compensation for indirect damage.

Installation of Solar system on A25

The ELEPHANT SOLAR system consists of a
Solar Module, 2 angle clamps (45 degrees) and a
protection box.

Disconnect the connection to the fence wire.
Assemble the protection box and the 2 angle

clamps (left+right) upon.
Connect the 12V cable to the wet battery.

(Red = + )
Connect the cable from the solar module to the wet

battery. (Red = + )
The solar module should befacing south
Establish the connection to the fence wire
Turn the ON/OFF switch ON and the system will

start working. The system will work steadily from
March to October. During the season’s extremes
(beginning/end) it is wise to keep an eye on the
indicator. If the time gap between flashes is
more than 3 seconds, light intensity is no longer
sufficient.

Important!

During periods when the appliance is not in
use, it is important the battery is kept charged.
Therefore, place the appliance there where the
solar cell can occupy the most daylight.
