Sound Reinforcement System

General Description:

The Electro-Voice® Xi-1191A and Xi-1191AF subwoofer
loudspeaker systems are part of the Xi-A series and are
intended for high-level sound reinforcement for fixed­installation and touring-sound applications. The Xi­1191A(F) is a single 18-inch loudspeaker system designed
to be used with the Klark Teknik DN9848 as well as the
Electro-Voice Dx38 digital sound processor. These units
all provide frequency division, time delay and equalization,
and are appropriate for use with these subwoofers in
connection with other full-range Xi-A series products. The
Xi-1191A(F) is a vented-box design that utilizes a single
EVX-180B subwoofer. This subwoofer features a 102-mm
(4-inch) voice coil and an extremely high XMAX (maximum
linear excursion) for very-high sound pressure levels at
very-low frequencies. The Xi-1191A(F) enclosure is
constructed of 18-mm, 13-ply, birch plywood and is
availab le in a black or white textured-paint finish. The flying
system includes four full-track flying points (two on the top
and two on the bottom). Both flying (Xi-1191AF) and non­flying (Xi-1191A) versions are available. The Xi-1191A(F)
loudspeaker system is an ideal choice for any professional
installation or regional touring application where accurate
low-frequency sound reproduction at high sound-pressure
levels is required. The Xi-1191A(F) with Dx38 Digital Signal
Processor create the ideal solution to subwoofer
applications where high acoustic power is required from
32 Hz to 160 Hz. The Xi-1191A(F) is designed specifically
to be used in conjunction with the full-range Xi-A systems
(such as Xi-1122A/85, Xi-1152A/64 & /94, Xi-1123A/106,
Xi-2123A/106, Xi-1153A/64, Xi-1183A/64, Xi-2153A/64, Xi­1122MHA/64 and Xi-2122MHA/42).

The loudspeaker system shall be a low frequency system with performance controlled by the processors listed in this engineering data
sheet. The loudspeaker system shall have a single 18-inch low-frequency woofer. The woofer shall have an 8-ohm, 4-inch-diameter
voice coil constructed of aluminum wire, which shall be capable of handling a 600-watt shaped pinknoise signal with a 6-dB crest factor
for 8 hours (as per ANSI/EIA RS-426A & AES 2-1984). The loudspeaker system shall ha ve a sensitivity of 100 dB (1 w att at 1 meter). The
loudspeaker system shall have an enclosure constructed of 18-mm, 13-ply birch plywood and shall have a vinyl-clad steel grille. The
flying version shall employ flying hardware of a “track” style and two tracks on the enclosure top and two tracks on the enclosure bottom.
The loudspeaker dimensions shall be 914 mm (36.00 in.) high, by 586 mm (23.07 in.) wide and 759 mm (29.88 in.) deep and shall
weigh 68.2 kg (150 lbs).

The loudspeaker shall be the Electro-Voice® Xi-1191A or Xi-1191AF.
