Frequently Asked Questions:
How long will the battery last? - If fully charged the battery should last 6 hours. The unit will work fully functionally until the power is down to 20% at which time the wifi will not stay connected.
The Smart Therm (WS Thermxxxx) is not showing up on my iDevice in settings? - Reset your Smart Therm by using a pin and gently push into the reset hole on the back of the unit.
Then completely shut down your Smart Therm by holding the on/off button until the screen shuts off.
What is the range of the thermometer? - Normally the range will be about 60meters (200 feet). There are many factors that can change the range making it longer or shorter. In most cases you should not have an issue with range in the home.
Can the unit be used without my iDevice? – Yes it can be used as a stand along thermometer.
What happens if I am disconnected in the middle of cooking? In many cases the unit will re-connect automatically. However if it does not, close the app completely and re-open the app. Most of the time this is caused by lost wifi connections and your iDevice will remember the connection.
What is the maximum temperature that the unit will read? The unit will read up to 392F.
What if I see --- on the LCD? Usually this means that there is a short in the wire or probe due to it being exposed to heat above 750F or water has gotten into the wire. In this case the probe and wire must be replaced.
How do I replace the probe and wire? You can request a replacement by calling 1-800-526-0954 or Williams-Sonoma customer service line. Replacement probes and wires are also available at most Williams-Sonoma store locations.
