Product Description
The Ei184 is a Heat Alarm that is designed to operate
with suitable 8-30 volt control panels and to provide a
loud local alarm.
The Ei184 has advanced features such as the ability to
interconnect up to twelve alarms to allow all alarms to
sound if just one of the interconnected alarms should be
triggered.
Relay contacts (normally open and closed supplied) are
available for triggering the panel itself and its associated
ancillary products, such as extra loud sirens, magnetic
door holders etc.
The Ei184 is ideal for use in kitchens and garages,
where the use of optical or ionisation alarms would lead
to unwanted nuisance alarms.
The Ei184 is easily installed and comes supplied with all
necessary screw fixings..
Operation
The heat alarm will activate the built in sounder
upon detecting heat that reaches 58ºC
The heat alarm will automatically reset itself and
silence the sounder when the temperature drops
below the preset level.
The built in sounder will provide a minimum sound
output of 85dB at 3m
The “Test/Hush” button will silence nuisance alarms
if any
The “Test”/Hush button will simulate the effect of
heat and tests sensor, electronics and horn-use to
check performance at least monthly

Installation & Placement
Alarms should be placed in accordance with the general guidelines shown in
the diagram above. These recommendations are based on the problem of
areas of “dead air” close to corners of rooms and apexes of ceilings, which
could result in the prevention of heat reaching the heat detector
Please consult the Instruction Leaflet supplied with the Ei184 for detailed
instructions as to how to correctly install and position the heat detector
Important Precaution:
Do not install the actual smoke/heat
alarm itself in new or renovated
buildings until all work is completed
(including floor coverings) and the
building has been fully cleaned.
(Excessive dust and debris from
building work can contaminate the
smoke chamber and cause
problems, and it will also invalidate
the guarantee). If it must be
installed, cover it completely,
particularly around the edges, with
a dust cover (eg. a plastic bag),
until all cleaning is finished..
