Edsyn VA175 Soldacav Instruction Manual
A revolutionary pick and place system that uses direct air pressure or vacuum to pick-up
and place parts and components. Using shop air, the VA175 generates air or vacuum for
whatever application is necessary. Use as a blower for cleaning and cooling hot components or with the turn of a knob, use the suction to pick-up even the smallest of parts.

At AIR setting air

At VAC setting air
is drawn in to the
pick-up tool
Place lifting cup over
component before pressing
trigger. Reflow the solder joints.
After the leads are
desoldered from the
pads press trigger to lift
component off the
circuit board.
Component is air lifted and
cooled at the same time.

FOLLOW THESE TECHNIQUES for PICK & PLACE
AIR V A C
AIR APPLICATION:
Silicone disk is folded
up or is removed.
To lift and cool down
the component
immediately after
the leads are
desoldered from the
pads.
VACUUM APPLICATION:
Silicone disk is lowered.
To lift and place a
component in conjunction with hot air soldering.
air vacuum
Pick-up disk
must be fitted
snug to
prevent it
from being
blown off.
