Edimax Technology PRI-885 User Manual

Building on the current success of the existing PermaLINK models, Edimax Computer is broadening the PermaLINK product line with 2 high-end models: PRI-785 and PRI-885. They are the most affordable enterprise class multiWAN, multi-homing routers in the industry. These products allow Edimax Computer to provide bandwidth solutions that span the market segments between SOHO & SME and the entry-level enterprise class.
Now, by utilizing 5 high-speed WAN lines, PermaLINK PRI-785 and PRI-885 can approach half of the DS3 level of service at an extremely affordable cost for schools, architectural firms, printing companies, government offices, and many other medium-size companies. The following are the typical cost for a DS3 line and the proposed PermaLINK solution:
WAN type Down data rate Up data rate Cost per
month DS3 45 Mbps 45 Mbps $5000 T1 1.5 Mbps 1.5 Mbps $600
PermaLINK’s 5 WAN lines load-balancing solution
Cable 6 Mbps .8 Mbps $60 DSL 3 Mbps .5 Mbps $75 DSL 3 Mbps .5 Mbps $75 DSL 3 Mbps .5 Mbps $75 DSL 3 Mbps .5 Mbps $75
To summarize: PermaLINK PRI-785 and PRI-885 can provide 40% of DS3 download; 6.2% of DS3 upload speed and at 7.2% of the cost. Comparison between PermaLINK and T1 line with 1.5 Mbps for both upload and download is no contest.
The above cost analysis makes it an extremely smart choice to use PermaLINK to enhancing your broadband capacity, as well as, to get fault-tolerant, redundant, and fail-safe Internet access. You can now afford to step-up to the next level of Internet bandwidth or you may save on the substantial recurring costs of a fractional DS3.
