Ÿ 10M Link/ACT LED (yellow)
The 10M Link/ACT LED shows the status of the Print Server’s 10Mbps
network connection :
1. If you are using a 10BaseT connection to the Print Server, the
10M Link/ACT LED will normally be on to indicate a good link.
2. The 10M Link/ACT LED will flash when there is network traffic
flows on the network.
Connecting to the Printer
The rear end of the PS-1100+ has one standard 25-pin parallel printer
connector. To connect the Print Server to your printer :
1. Connect 25-pin connector of the printer cable to the parallel connector
at the Print Server.
2. Connect the other connector of the printer cable to the printer. If your
printer supports more than one type of connection, make sure it is
configured to use the parallel port.
Connecting to the Network
You can connect the PS-1100+ to either a 100Base-TX Fast Ethernet
network or a 10BaseT Ethernet network using twisted-pair cabling.
To connect the Print Server to your Fast Ethernet or Ethernet network,
1. Make sure that the cable between the Print Server and your hub is no
longer than 100 meters. Use an ordinary straight-through twisted-pair
cable, Category 3 or better quality for 10BaseT connection; or use a
Category 5 straight-through twisted-pair cable for 100Base-TX
connection.
2. Locate an unused port on your hub or concentrator. Plug the RJ-45
connector on one end of your twisted pair cabling into the port.
3. Plug the other end of the cable into the Print Server’s RJ-45
connection. If both the hub and the Print Server are powered on, the
Link indicators of both the hub and Print Server should light to indicate
a good connection between the hub and the Print Server.
NOTE : Use only the power adapter included with your Print Server.
Damage may result if an incorrect power adapter is used.
