EDER splitting device EHG80, 07.12.09 - 1 -
Technical Data
Splitting way (range) 200 mm Wedge length 180 mm Wedge strength 120 mm Laceration in diagonal position up to 220 mm Pressure at the wedge 7,500 kg Weight of the splitting device 16 kg Required oil pressure 150 bar Required oil flow from 10 l / min
Areas of Application
The device is apt for splitting trunks regardless of length and diameter. The wedge is driven into the trunk through the oil cock from the shell, while the counterpoise is absorbed by the diagonal edge penetrating into the face surface of the trunk. With fibered wood and long trunks, the device can be applied diagonally. So the crack can be widened to 220 mm width at any frequency.
Connecting the Splitting Device to the Hydraulics
For assembling the splitting device to tractors, unimog or hydraulic aggregates, 2 hydraulic connections are required. It is to be observed that a connection should be unpressurized (R = return). The other connection (P = pump) is inserted at the pressure line.
There are various hydraulic systems on the market. At purchase, the hydraulic system to which the splitting device is to be connected must be named to the manufacturer, so the corresponding valves are assembled to the device. With hydraulic systems with adjustable feed pump, an oil flow of 20 l/min is to be adjusted. At this flow rate, optimal performance of the splitting device is achieved.
Instructions for Use
The front and back range of the wedge can be controlled via the control valve attached to the handhold. The hose connexion serially 10 m long between the hydraulic drive and the splitting device gives a sufficient scope of movement for the person operating the device. By using the splitting device, splitting long or fibered trunks is essentially facilitated and accelerated. The pieces to be split are trenched once or repeatedly lying in their respective position at the bottom according to requirements. This device is also apt for splitting up treetops.
