EDELBROCK CAT-BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM
For 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra 3.7L & 4.7L V8, 2WD & 4WD
Catalog #5708
Please study these instructions carefully before installing your new Edelbrock Cat-Back Exhaust System. If you have any questions, please contact our Technical Hotline at: 1-800-416-8628 , 7am - 5pm, Monday-Friday, Pacific Standard Time or e-mail us at Edelbrock@Edelbrock.com.
Suggested Tools for Installation:
3/8" ratchet set and metric sockets 9/16” and 15mm wrench Hacksaw Jack and jackstands Liquid penetrant and rubber lubricant
NOTE BEFORE YOU START:
This Edelbrock cat-back system comes with three different I-pipes. This is because some Tundras (between 2000-2006) use three catalytic converters. Others use 2 catalytic converters and a resonator. If your vehicle came from the factory with 3 catalytic converters, you will use I-pipe #25-3269 behind the third catalytic converter. If your vehicle came from the factory with 2 catalytic converters and a resonator, you have the choice of either retaining the resonator for a more melow exhaust tone, or eliminating the resonator which will give you a more aggressive exhaust tone. See appropriate steps below.
DISASSEMBLY Vehicles Equipped with 3 O.E. Catalytic Converters:
1. Remove the V-band clamp behind the rear most catalytic converter.
2. Remove the stock hanger bars from their isolators behind the third catalytic converter and remove the O.E. exhaust system from the vehicle.
3. Install I-pipe #25-3269 behind the rear most catalytic converter
(See Fig. 1).
Vehicles Equipped with 2 O.E. Catalytic Converters & A Resonator:
1. If you are retaining your O.E., resonator, cut the factory I-pipe 10” from the back of the O.E. resonator. If you want to eliminate the O.E. resonator, cut the factory I-pipe right where it enters the O.E. resonator.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Proper installation is the responsibility of the installer. Improper installation will void warranty and may
result in poor performance and engine or vehicle damage.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Support your vehicle with proper jackstands or ramps rated for the total vehicle weight. Place stands so that the rear
axle is allowed to hang free for easy system removal.
These cat-back systems are engineered to fit stock catalytic converters or equivalent replacements. If you original
system has been modified, Edelbrock will not warranty fit or performance.

2. Remove the stock hanger bars from their isolators behind the resonator and remove the O.E. exhaust system from the vehicle.

ASSEMBLY
1. If using original resonator, use 2-1/2” band clamp on end of I-pipe, #25-3248 and install over cut end of resonator pipe, slip hanger into rubber isolator. Ipipe #25-3248 must slide into resonator pipe a minimum of 2”.
If not using original resonator, use 2-1/2” band clamp on end of I-pipe #25-3247 and install over cut end of Y-pipe. I-pipe #25-3247 must slide onto Ypipe a minimum of 2”. Cut I-pipe #25-3248 on reduced end back 3-3/8” so to remove reduced end, and deburr. Place 3” band clamp on front I-pipe. Install rear I-pipe #25-3248 into front I-pipe, engage hanger in rubber isolator.
NOTE: Snug clamps only so system can be adjusted during installation.

2. Slip the muffler onto the intermediate pipe with a 3” band clamp on the front. NOTE: Inlet end of muffler is marked. Snug the clamp so you can adjust the system later.
3. Install muffler hanger assembly #23-4081 into muffler rubber isolators from the front of isolators and slip over muffer outlet.
4. Install overaxle pipe into outlet of muffler.
5. Install overaxle hanger assembly #23-4082 by slipping over outlet end of overaxle pipe and engage hanger in rubber isolator.
6. Slip tailpipe onto overaxle pipe, install 3” band clamp and snug clamp.
7. Align system for clearance to body, frame, and driveline as you tighten the system from front to rear. Hanger clamps can be used to properly align system.
8. Check for leaks and correct, if necessary.
