NOTE: Edelbrock trailing arms are fully assembled,
greased, and ready to install. Install new
trailing arms with the grease fittings facing
down.
1. Install the new trailing arm by locating the front
bolt first. NOTE: Spherical ball assembly goes
toward the rear of the vehicle. Use supplied
grease on urethane bushing where bushing
contacts vehicle.
2. Place one drop of blue Loctite on clean threads
and torque the nut to 70 ft./lbs.
3. The trailing arm should then pivot smoothly on
the chassis.
4. Install OEM 14mm rear bolt at the rear of the
arm.
5. Place one drop of blue Loctite on clean threads
and torque the nut to 70 ft./lbs.
(See Figure 3).
INSTALLATION OF EDELBROCK TRAILING ARMS
6. Loop parking brake cable over Edelbrock trailing
arm. Re-attach to parking brake level and clip
to caliper bracket.
7. Although Edelbrock Trailing Arms are pre-lubed,
you may want to finish your installation by
lubing the front and rear bushings with a grease
gun. Be sure to replace the dust caps on the
zerk fittings to prevent dirt and corrosion from
damaging the fitting. Teflon grease is
recommended to lube polyurethane bushings
and a high pressure rated chassis lube works
good for the special ball end of the arm.
Re-check all nut and bolt tightness after first
10 miles.
NOTE: To further upgrade your suspension,
use other Edelbrock suspension
products such as springs, shocks,
panhard rod, sub-frame connectors,
strut tower brace.
