Installation Inst ructions
1. Make sure the engine is completely cool and set the parking brake on the vehicle.
2. Raise hood and check the throttle position sensor (TPS) voltage. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, but do not turn on the engine. Use a digital volt/ohmmeter and write down the voltage as a reference for installation. The voltage should be approximately 0.5V to 0.99 V.
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Remove air filter duct, all vacuum hoses, water (coolant) hoses and electrical connectors from the stock throttle body. Note: Engine coolant may run from the hoses once removed.
5. Disconnect the throttle linkage by opening the throttle manually and slipping the cable from the cam groove on the linkage.
6. Remove the four nuts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold and remove the factory throttle body.
7. Remove the throttle position sensor (TPS) from the factory throttle body. You must carefully grind or file away the heads of the rivets.
8. If the factory throttle body has a bypass valve at the bottom install the supplied billet aluminum piece using the bolts (3-M6 x 20mm) and gasket.
9. If the factory throttle body has a map sensor mounted on the topside remove it and install it on the new throttle body. Use the supplied screws (2-M4 x 10mm) and gasket. If not the supplied chrome back off plate must be installed in this location with the supplied gasket and screws (2-M4 x 10mm).

10. Install the throttle position sensor (TPS) on the new throttle body using the supplied gasket and screws (M5 x 8mm).
Note: To achieve maximum benefits you should match the
intake opening on the factory intake manifold to the size of the new throttle body bore. The factory manifold should be bored or hand grinded “OFF” the engine. Refer to the
intake. Use the gasket as a template to mark the manifold for grinding.
11. Using the factory nuts and the supplied gasket install the new throttle body on the factory intake manifold and secure.
12. Slip the cable on the throttle linkage. Note: More slack may be needed on the linkage in order for the butterfly to close completely.
13. Observe the throttle body while an assistant presses and releases the gas pedal to ensure that the throttle plate both opens and closes fully.
14. Reattach the air filter duct, all vacuum hoses, water (coolant) hoses and electrical connectors on the new throttle body.
15. Any unused vacuum ports on the new throttle body must be plugged.
16. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, but do not turn on the engine. Adjust the throttle position sensor (TPS) to the stock voltage by slightly loosening the mounting screws and rotating the TPS to the desired voltage. Then retighten the mounting screws.
17. Start the vehicle and check for loose connection or coolant leaks, etc.
18. After the vehicle is warmed up check the idle speed (refer to owners manual). If the idle is to low adjust it by turning the bypass screw (gold screw 12 o’clock position from the vacuum tube) counter clock wise with a flat blade screwdriver.
19. Double-check the fasteners and clamps to ensure they are all secure.
