INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please study these instructions carefully before installing your new throttle body . If you have any questions or problems, please call our Technical Hotline at: 1-800-416-8628, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday or e-mail us at edelbrock@edelbrock.com. Please fill out and mail your warranty card.
NOTE: Larger than stock throttle bodies may require manifold bore-blending. If blending is done while manifold is installed, exercise care in keeping aluminum chips and/or sanding dust from entering engine. Clean up debris and dust thoroughly before installing throttle body.
SPECIAL NOTICE: This Edelbrock part has received an Executive Order number (E.O.#) from the California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) making it legal for street use in all 50 states on 1992 through 1997 Chevy 5.7L LT1 V8s.. To assist you with emission equipment certification, we have included a silver fan shroud decal to help testing personnel verify the this part is a legal replacement on the vehicle for which it is cataloged. The adhesive-backed decal should be affixed next to the existing emission and engine specifications decal. Do not cover any part of your original emission decal.
INSTALLATION
1. Let engine cool, raise hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the throttle body air inlet hose and disconnect the two water lines from underside of the factory throttle body.
3. Disconnect vacuum hoses, electrical connectors, throttle and cruise control cables from the factory throttle body.
4 Remove the four mounting bolts from the throttle body
and remove the throttle body from the vehicle slowly ­ensuring that no other connectors are hindering removal. Discard the four factory mounting bolts.
5. Remove the seven torx head screws from the water crossover manifold on the bottom of the stock throttle body. Clean all gasket surfaces and transfer the IAC motor housing to the new throttle body using the supplied gasket and screws - be sure the housing is fully seated to the throttle body to avoid any leaks.
6. Re-install new throttle body to the manifold using the supplied gaskets and bolts and torque to factory specification (18 ft./lbs.)
7. Reconnect all vacuum hoses, electrical connectors, throttle and cruise control cables to the new throttle body.
8. Re-install the negative battery terminal, refill the coolant tank to allow for lost coolant and start vehicle. Idle adjustments are made on set screw accessible from the back side of throttle body on driver’s side of vehicle.
9. If any idle adjustments are required, refer to the factory specs. A scan tool may be needed to make these adjustments.
