EcoWater Eco Friendly Series, Eco Friendly+, Eco Friendly Light User Manual

Eco Friendly
Eco Friendly Light / Eco Friendly+
Developed to produce drinking water from water sources with poor quality!
The system is made up of several components with different characteristics, which together makes a very ecient and compact water purifier. All components are produced by well known international manufacturers and thus the purification statistics are very well documented.
Electricity is not required; the system runs on water pressure only. The unit is suitable for private houses, cabins, boats etc. It is also preferable to use in connection with water coolers and hot drink dispensers.

ASSEMBLY
Eco Friendly is a system that is very easy to assemble, however, it is recommended that an authorised plumber installs the unit. Do not overtighten, it is not necessary due to the o-rings that will seal when hand tightened.
Turn off the main water supply or use a stop valve [2].
Install the unit onto the cold water pipe/grid [1].
It is highly recommended to install a separate stop valve [2] and a water leakage protection valve [3].
Is is also highly recommended to install a separate tap for the purified water [8]. (i.e Eco Water tap-kit, please read page 4 for assembly instructions).
If you choose to install Eco Water tap-kit, all necessary hoses/pipes and couplings are included in the kit. Adjust the lengths of the pipes/hoses [4] and assure they are cut straight and not jammed.
Place the purification unit in an appropriate place under the sink. NOTE! Remember to leave a 10cm clearing underneath the unit. This is very important in order to open the unit for cleaning/maintenance and/or exchange filters.
Connect the hose/pipe between the units out take [6] and the tap [7] on the sink. Connect the hose/pipe between the water leakage safty valve [3] and the units water inntake [5]. Make sure the flow of the water goes the correct way through the system. Make sure nothing is jammed/squeezed.
Turn on the water supply [2]. Now turn on the allocated tap and let the water run to waste for about 10 minutes. leave it unused for 24 hours and then run to waste for about three minutes. This is to remove loose particles resulting from the manufacturing process and to let the filter element to be conditioned tothe source water. After this, the filter is ready for use.
Note! The unit does not tolerate frost.

TAP ASSEMBLY
Our tap-kit is designed to be placed on the kitchen countertop or directly on the edge of the sink. It is important that the tap is situated so that waste water runs into the sink and down the drain.
Drill a hole (14mm) through the
countertop/sink.
Place seals and washers as shown
on the illustration. The escutcheon (A) and the rubber seal o-ring (B) is to be placed above the countertop. The black locating washer (C), star washer (D) and the lock nut (E) is to be assembled below the countertop.
The plastic fitting should be
placed on the water intake of the tap and the water hose should be pushed into the fitting.

MAINTENANCE
The filters in your EcoFriendly water purification system must be cleaned from time to time. Cleaning is easy – no plumber or other service personnel is necessary. The quality of the water source decides how frequent it is necessary to clean the filters.
The filters have to be replaced if the purification system delivers no water at all, or when the water flow is low even after cleaning the ceramic filter. Filter change will probably be necessary after approx. 2 500 liters or after 6 - 12 months of daily use (water source dependent).
Soon after the purification system has been put to use for the first time you will experience a noticeable drop in the water pressure. This is expected due to residue (from production) from the High performance filter that are clogging up the ceramic filter. A cleaning of the ceramic filter is thus necessary relatively short after put to use the first time, or after filter change. The system will deliver purified water in a much longer period after this first removal of production residue. The quality of the water source decides how frequent it is necessary to clean the filters.

CLEANING THE CERAMIC FILTER
The ceramic filter is placed to the right.
Turn of the systems water source. Release water pressure by opening a connected tap. It’s a good idea to place a bowl or a towel under the purification system before opening the filter houses.
Open the ceramic filter housing using the enclosed tool.
Remove the filter from the filter housing. Handle the filter with great care – it can easily break.
Use the enclosed sponge to clean the filter with cold water. Do not use soap! Rub the filter surface a couple of times.
Put the filter back in the filter housing. Make sure to place the filter in the correct direction – see writing on the filter.
Re-attach the filter housing to the purification unit. Tighten with the enclosed tool (it’s sucient to tighten by hand). Make sure the housing is placed correctly. If the housing is attached askew, or the O-ring or filter is placed incorrectly, a leak will probably occur.
Open the water flow into the purification system.
Turn on the water and let the water flow for about 3 minutes (this removes dirt, particles etc.)
Make sure that there are no leakages from the filter housings.
If the system has not been used for a few days,
let the water flow for about 3 minutes before use.
