WIRING YOUR SPEAKERS
At this point, you will need to look at the instructions to your CD player, tape deck,

REAR DECK MOUNTING
When installing your Eclipse speakers on the rear deck
follow the same instructions as above as far as choosing a good location. The only

CAR DOORS WITH EXISTING FACTORY HOLES

holes and grills already in place, check with your Eclipse dealer to make sure that
you purchased the correct speaker to fit your car.

If

they are the correct speakers,

then you are ready to begin.

1.

Remove the door panels, paying special attention not to break anyofthe clips
that hold the door panel to the door. Some vehicles may require special tools to
remove the panels.

2.

Check for factory speaker wiring alreadyinthe door, otherwise run the provided
speaker wire through the factory grommet

3.

Connect the speaker wire to the speaker, paying special attention to the polarity
of

the speaker. (If you are using the wire provided by Eclipse, the wire with the black
stripe is the negative wire.) Check to make sure that the wire is routed
way as not to

Next, mount the speaker into the factory cut out, using the appropriate hardware.

CAR DOORS WITHOUT EXISTING HOLES
Car doors without existing holes are a lot more challenging than car doors with holes.
Ifyou have a vehicle with no provisions for speakers, Eclipse strongly suggests that
you have your local Authorized Eclipse Dealer install them. But, ifyou must install
them yourself, please read on.

1.

Look for a suitable location on the door to mount the speakers. Usually the front

doesn't interfere with opening and closing the door.

2.

Carefully remove the door panel, so as not to damage anyofthe clips on the

panel.

3.

More often than not, you will need to cut a holeinthe metal portionofthe door.

Before cutting, make sure that no wiring harnesses are behind the area that you will

be cutting, and also check to see if anything is mounted to the section

It is also a good idea to check the clearance behind the metal, and make sure the

window track will clear the magnet on the speaker when fully installed.

5.

If everything checks out ok, place the template (provided) on the door panel that

you removed. Trace the circle onto the door.

6.

Carefully, cut your hole.

Next, mount the door panel back onto the door, being careful not to break any

the clips that hold it onto the. door.

8.

Trace the hole that you just cutinthe door panel onto the metal door, and then

remove the door panel again.

9.

Cut the holeinthe metal door (Don't forget your safety glasses) Be sure to paint

the exposed metal with a rust resistant paint.

10. Now it's time to run the wire through the factory grommet

Reinstall the door panel.

12. Connect the speaker wire to the speakers. (That's the easy part)
