Product Overview
Safety Information
ECL-1000 is suitable for measurement of cables such as coaxial, power
lines, low voltage UTP/STP, etc. ECL-1000 is a portable handheld
instrument. It has high measurement accuracy and safety level so it is
suitable for tough field environments.
ECL-1000 uses TDR technology. ECL-1000 indicates the length to a fault
spot in a cable. It also measures opens or short circuits with accurate
results up to 3km (9,842 ft).
ECL-1000 include these features as follow:
①
TDR measures cable length and finds fault locations such as OPEN or SHORT
② Auto V.O.P function
③ Auto Impedance matching
④ Auto Power Off
⑤ High Resolution & Accuracy
⑥ 48V Input protection
⑦ Long Lasting Operation (30,000 times with backlight)
⑧ LCD with Backlight
⑨ Ultra-Light (180g with batteries)
⑩ Low Battery indication
⑪ Soft Carrying Case with Belt Clip (Velcro), Batteries and Test Lead
Risk of personal injury. See the manual for details.
Caution: Risk of damage or destruction to instrument.
Risk of electric shock.
Risk of damage to instrument from static discharge.
Conforms to European Union directives.
Do not put products containing circuit boards into the garbage.
① Before you start, carefully read all of the safety information and instructions
in the manual.
② Do not connect this instrument directly to live wires. This instrument
conforms to the safety measurement standard for instruments.
③ Do not connect this instrument to voltages higher than the maximum
specified by the measurement category rating of the lowest-rated individual
component of this instrument.
④ Before you start this instrument, check and if instrument is damaged,
remove the battery and do not use.
⑤ Do not use this instrument improperly.
Caution
This instrument contains parts that can be damaged by static discharge.
This instrument should not be connected to any energized circuits.

V.O.P is velocity rate that through speed of light velocity and cable by
permission to pursue so cable’s length is calculated by using V.O.P.
To get the most accurate measurements of the length of a cable or the
distance to a fault, set the velocity of propagation (V.O.P) to the correct
value for the cable. You can set the V.O.P to a known value, or you can use
the AUTO V.O.P function to find the V.O.P for a known length of cable.
