SUBJECT: CH4400 BELT GUIDE IN-

PURPOSE

This kit is to replace the existing one piece belt guide with
two separate belt guides. The two belt guides will offer lon­ger belt life. To replace the belt guides proceed as follows.

WARNING

Before inspecting or servicing any part of this machine,
shut off or disconnect power source and make sure all
moving parts have come to a complete stop.

3. Remove the two 5/16" bolts and belt guide and dis­card. DO NOT reuse hardware.

BELT GUIDE INSTALLATION

1. Remove seven 5/16" bolts and side belt cover.

2. Remove four 5/16" bolts and top belt cover.

4. Engage belt engagement lever to apply tension to belt.

5. Install new belt guides using hardware included.

6. Belt guides should be set to a 1/8" gap between belt
and belt guide. Torque the four bolts that hold the belt
guides to 19 ft-lbs.

7. Position the belt engagement lever in the start posi­tion and reinstall the belt covers and hardware.

8. Start the machine. (If the chipper disk is rotating with­out the engagement lever engaged the belt guides
will need to be moved slightly closer to the belt.)
Make sure guides do not touch belt when engage­ment lever is engaged.

9. The belt guides are properly set when the chipper
disk has little to no movement at start up, when the
engagement lever is in the start position.
