1 Introduction
1.1 Brief Introduction
E72-2G4M05S1A is a self-developed, small-size, SMD,
ZigBee 6LoWPAN 100mw wireless module based on CC2630
of Texas Ins truments.
The CC2630 integrates 128KB of in-system programmable
flash memory, 8KB of buffered static RAM (SRAM) and
ZigBee, 6LoWPAN wireless communication protocol. Becaus e
of its unique ultra-low power sens or controller, it is ideal for
connecting external sensors. The analog and digital data are
collected autonomously while the rest of the system is in sleep
mode. Thanks to its built-in dual-core low-power proces s or, users can build a complete s ystem based on their own
modules. We used a 24MHz indus trial grade high precision low temperature drift active crys tal.
Since this module is a SoC module, it needs to be programmed by user before it can be used.
1.2 Features
The measured communication distance can reach 150m/500m; Maximum transmission power of 3.2 mW, software multi-level adjus table; Built-in ZigBee, 6LoWPAN protocol s tack; Built-in 32.768kHz clock crys tal oscillator; Support the global license-free ISM 2.4 GHz band; Built-in high performance low power cons umption Cortex-M3 and Cortex-M0 dual core proces s or; Rich resources, 128KB FLASH, 28KB RAM; Support 1.8V~3.6V power supply, power supply over 3.3 V can guarantee the best performance; Industrial grade s tandard design, s upport -40 ~ 85 °C for working over a long time; IPEX and stamp hole optional, good for secondary development and integ ration.
1.3 Application
Home s ecurity alarm and remote keyless entry; Wireless alarm security system; Building automation solutions; Wireless industrial-grade remote control; Health care products; Advanced Meter Reading Architecture(AMI); Automotive industry applications .

4 Basic operation
4.1 Hardware design
It is recommended to use a DC stabilized power supply. The power s upply ripple factor is as small as pos s ible a nd
the module needs to be reliably grounded;
Please pay attention to the correct connection of the pos itive and negative poles of the power supply,
reverse connection may cause permanent damage to the module;
Please check the power s upply to ensure that between the recommend ed supply voltage, if exceeding the maximu m,
the module will be permanently damaged;
Please check the s tability of the power supply. Voltage can not fluctuate greatly and frequently; When designing the power s upply circuit for the module, it is often recommended to reserve more than 30% of the
margin, so the whole machine is beneficial for long-term s table operation;
The module should be as far away as possible from the power supply, trans formers, high -frequency wiring and other
parts with large electromagnetic interference;
Bottom LayerHigh-frequency digital routing, high-frequency analog routing, and power routing must be avoided
under the module. If it is necessary to pass through the module, assume that the module is soldered to the Top
Layer, and the copper is spread on the Top Layer of the module contact part(well grounded), it must be close to the
digital part of the module and routed in the Bottom Layer;
As suming the module is soldered or placed over the Top Layer, it is wrong to randomly route over t he Bottom Layer
or other layers, which will affect the module's s purs and receiving sens itivity to varying degrees;
It is assumed that there are devices with large electromagnetic interference around the module that will greatly
affect the performance. It is recommended to keep them away from the module according to the strength of the
interference. If neces sary, appropriate isolation and shielding can be done;
As sume that there are traces with large electromagnetic interference (high -frequency digital, high-frequency analog,
power traces) around the module that will greatly affect the performance of the module. It is recommended to st ay
away from the module according to the s trength of the interference.If neces sary, appropriate isolation and shielding
can be done;
If the communication line uses a 5V level, a 1k-5.1k resistor mus t be connected in series (not recommended, there is
still a risk of damage);
Try to s tay away from some phys ical layers such as TTL protocol at 2.4GHz , for example: USB3.0; The mounting structure of antenna has a great influence on the performance of the module. It is necessary to en s ure
that the antenna is exposed, preferably vertically upward. When the module is mounted inside the case, us e a go od
antenna extension cable to extend t he antenna to the outside;
The antenna must not be installed inside the metal cas e, which will cause the transmission distance to be great ly
weakened.
4.2 Programming
The core of this module is CC2630, its driving method is completely equivalent to CC2630, the user can operate
according to the CC2630 chip manual (see CC2630 manual for details );

It is recommended to use the Code Composer Studio (CCS) Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Code Compos er Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) that s upports TI's microcontroller and
embedded processor products. Code Composer Studio includes a complete set of tools for developing and
debugging embedded applications. It includes the C/C++ compiler, source editor, project build environment,
debugger, des criptor, and many other features. The IDE provides a single us er interface to help you through eve ry
step of the application development proces s . Familiar tools and interfaces allow users to get started faster th an ever
before. Code Composer Studio combines the benefits of the Eclipse software framework with TI's advanced
embedded debugging capabilities to provide embedded developers with a compelling, feature -rich development
environment.
When transmitting, set DIO_7 pin to high level and DIO_13, DIO_14 pins to low level; When receiving, s et DIO_7 pin to low level and DIO_13, DIO_14 pins to high level; Before turning off, s et DIO_7, DIO_13, DIO_14 pins to low;
The register configuration can be reinitialized when the chip is idle for greater stability.
4.3 Connection instructions to the emulator
TMS, TCK, reset, and ground need to be connected between the emulator and the module, and an additional 3.3V
power supply is required for the emulator;
Use USB to UART module to connect with module, module serial port and IO port are multiplexed, users can set
according to their own needs;
Please note that good grounding is required. W hen there is a large area of grounding, the power supply ripple is
small. Increase the filter capacitor and try to be close to the VCC and GND pins of the module.

5 FAQ
5.1 Communication range is too short
The communication distance will be affected when obstacle exis ts ; Data lose rate will be affected by temperature, humidity and co -channel interference; The ground will absorb and reflect wireless radio wave, so the performance will be poor when tes ting near ground ; Sea water has great ability in abs orbing wireless radio wave, so performance will be poor when testing near the sea; The signal will be affected when the antenna is near metal object or put in a metal case; Power register was set incorrectly, air data rate is set as too high (the higher the air data rate, the s horter the
distance);
The power s upply low voltage under room temperature is lower than 2.5V, the lower the v oltage, the lower the
trans mitting power;
Due to antenna quality or poor matching between antenna and module.
5.2 Module is easy to damage
Please check the power s upply s ource, ensure it is 2.0V~3.6V, voltage higher than 3.6V will damage the module; Please check the s tability of power source, the voltage cannot fluctuate too much; Please make sure antistatic measure are taken when installing and using, high frequency devices have electrosta tic
susceptibility;
Please ensure the humidity is within limited range, s ome parts are sensitive to humidity; Please avoid us ing modules under too high or too low temperature.
5.3 BER(Bit Error Rate) is high
There are co-channel signal interference nearby, please be away from interference sources or modify
frequency and channel to avoid interference;
Poor power supply may cause messy code. Make s ure that the power s upply is reliable; The extension line and feeder quality are poor or too long, so the bit error rate is high.
