- ANALOG DISTORTION/OVERDRIVE PEDAL FROM EBS!
The Black Haze 2 is the ultimate solution for a rich and creamy
drive sound for your bass or guitar. Experience a world of sonic
possibilities with its Type switch, allowing you to switch between a
Deep, low-end fuzzy drive to a more gnarly type of overdrive in the
Normal and Thin positions. Plus, the new Blend control empowers
you to precisely determine the perfect balance bet ween your clean
signal and the gripping drive. We’ve included a convenient Gain
adjustment pot inside the pedal, ensuring you can compensate the
volume in case you experience a drop in level at your desired mix
setting.

THE CONTROLS
POWER SUPPLY INPUT*
Use a power supply that provides stabilized
9-18V DC with a standard center negative
2.1mm connector.
DRIVE
Controls the input
Gain/Drive level.
BLEND
Sets the mix
between drive
and clean sound.
OUTPUT
Connect the output
to your amp, or the
next device in your
signal path.

TONE
Shape the tone range
of the ef fect from
darker to brighter.
VOLUME
Sets the output
volume of the pedal.
Notice that higher
Drive level increases
the overall output as
well.
INPUT
Connect your
instrument, or the
previous device in
your signal path, to
the input jack.
ON/OFF SWITCH
Magnet type
footswitch to switch
the pedal on and off.

TYPE
Set tone charac ter of the
drive to THIN, NORMAL

TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
Please consult the following checkpoints, before consulting one of
the authorized EBS service centers or support@ebssweden.com
Checkpoint
1) Does the cable(s) work
properly?
2) Are the 1/4” plugs properly
connec ted all the way in?
3) Are the Instrument cable
attached to the Right
(input) jack, and the Amp
cable connected to the Left
(output) jack?
4) Does the pedal have a
battery, and is the battery
OK?
5) Does the indicator LED
light when pressing the foot
switch alternatively?
6) Does the instrument work?
7) Does the amplifier work
and is the volume turned
up?
8) If you are using a DC
adapter, Are you using an
EBS A D-9?
Act ion if answ ered NO
- Replace cable(s).
- Push the 1/4” plugs all
the way in.
- Reconnect input and
output jacks.
- Put a new battery in
the pedal.
- Replace/put in battery, or
use a DC power supply.
- Check the instrument.
- Turn up volume or check
the amp at your nearest
EBS service center.
- Check the voltage and
polarity of the adapter
you are using.

9) Do you experience a drop in volume when engaging the pedal?
- Depending on how you set the blend, a slight drop in volume
can be experienced when engaging the pedal. If that happens,
there is a Gain adjustment pot on the inside to compensate for
the loss. Remove the bot tom plate and you will find the pot as
illustrated below. Use a small screwdriver to adjust the level from
0 to +15 dB.

SOUND SET TINGS
The Black Haze 2 is a fun, easy, and intuitive tool to create drive
sounds with. We really recommend you to simply spend some time
with the pedal, twisting and turning the knobs and test the Type
settings to find your favourite sounds and your own unique blend of
overdrive. Not much that can go wrong!

RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES
We recommend powering this pedal with the EBS A D-9 Pro power
supply or the EBS RUNSTEN DC power brick solution to power an
entire pedalboard. Cables to distribute power from one AD9, or to
distribute power from the outlets of the RUNSTEN are also available
from EBS space-saving pedalboard accessories collection.
To connect one pedal to another, we recommend the original EBS
Flat Patch Cables in order to save space and secure a great signal
quality between your pedals.
