THE EBS BILLY SHEEHAN SIGNATURE DRIVE DELUXE PEDAL
Thank you for purchasing the Billy Sheehan Signature Drive Deluxe!
My new Deluxe pedal has more gain! It really screams. Much more
than the first version, but you can always tone it down if you like. A lso,
one very unique feature that I think will appeal to a lot of people is the
“swappable” 8 pin dual inline op amp. You can basically make it your
own signature drive by replacing the main drive chip with another of
your choice! A lso, there’s a phase reverse switch for the drive channel
that gives tones a ver y different dimension. And a “ boost” switch to
kick the drive into a much higher gain. All exciting new features that
will make it easier for players to fine tune this device to their own
personal needs.

DRIVE
TONE
LEVEL

DRIV E sets the gain for the classic overdrive
engine, all from subtle to high gain tone.
TONE is used to fine tune the desired
frequency scoop, ranging from lower to
higher midrange.
LEVEL is the level control for the drive
channel. This one is located post Drive
Loop and before the final compressor.
CLEAN is the level control for the clean
channel. This one is located post Clean
Loop and before the final compressor.
COMP SW ITCH controls the operation of the
compressor, placed after the loops and
the channels mix point.
HIGH - Maximum compression is
achieved with a makeup gain of 6 dB.
MID - A makeup gain of 3 dB is added in
this mode. The level can be changed by
the set ting of the Comp trimmer inside
(see advanced options).
OFF - Compression is disabled.
PHASE SWI TCH set in normal position equals
the original version of the pedal. The
INVERTED position retain more bottom
to the sound when using the drive.

BOOS T FOOT SWITCH boosts the Drive gain level
when activated.
ON/OFF FOOT SWITCH Switches the pedal on or of f.
ADVANCED CONTROL OPTIONS (as illustrated on next page)
REPL ACEABL E OP-AMP CHIP - The chip can be removed and replaced
without need of soldering. Try a different 8 -pin op-amp for a
different drive character. See EBS website for recommendations.
BOOS T (trimmer) - Sets the level of the boost footswitch from +3 to
+10 d B
THR. (trimmer) - This control sets the threshold level for the
compressor. By turning this tr immer clockwise the threshold level
will be lower, i.e. the compressor will react at lower levels.
COMP (trimmer) - This control sets the amount of compression
when the compression mode switch is in the MID position.
NOTE: The factory setting for these trimmers is CENTER position.
POWER OPTIONS
DC POWER ADAPTOR We recommend the use of a DC Power Supply,
such as the EBS AD -9+. The pedal handles 9-12 V DC, and require
a 2.1 mm pin center negative t ype of connector.
BATTERY The pedal can run on battery (not included). Use a 9V
alkaline type; 6LR61.

USING THE LOOPS
The Billy Sheehan Signature Drive Deluxe pedal gives you the
option of using additional ef fects or units for the two channels
independently before the final mix level set ting on the pedal.
When using the loops, use an insert cable of a standard TRS type,
such as the EBS ICY-30, where the RIN G is the SEND signal, and
the TIP is the RETURN signal back to the pedal.
Note: You may also connect a mono plug directly into the insert
jacks without damaging the send output. This gives you the option of
mixing different sources without necessarily using the send signal.
