The CS-3 is the result of a joint development
program by Carlo Sound and Eastern Acoustic Works to
develop a loudspeaker system with high output and low
distortion performance associated with horn-loaded systems,
while also incorporating the wide bandwidth and the ease o f
transport and set up of "one Box" direct radiating systems By
building three sophisticated true exponential horns in a single
enclosure, and packaging it for touring concert applications,
all the benifits of horn loading are realized with the ease of
one box packaging. Additiortally, through the use of vent
loading below low frequency horn cut-off, response is
extended to the 40 Hz region allowing for extended
bandwidth capabilities.

Performance at the leading edge of
technology

extensive touring sound experience with EAW's famous
engineering and manufacturing capabilities, this system is
designed to fulfill the need of touring sound applications
without modification or structural reinforcement
Construction is all cross-grain laminated birch with extensive
wood bracing, and urethane foam dampening in the LF and MF
horn flares virtually eliminates panel resonances even at levels
exceeding 140 db in the throat region. All horns maintain a
true exponential expansion enabling a smooth air loaded
impedance characteristic for exceptionally flat response
Careful design of the package itself enables us to realize a
truly efficient box in terms of ease of transport set up, and
breakdown. A variety of configurations are available. The
standard unit comes with handles and steel speaker grills.
Options include fly points, wheels, and traveling pallets.
