PRODUCT INFORMATION
At one time, surround speakers were used only to provide ambient
effects, but today they must reproduce signal equivalent to the main
channels. In addition to wide dispersion, surround systems must provide flat, full range frequency response and high power handling.
The CR57 full range surround system is engineered for tomorrow’s full
bandwidth digital surround tracks. A massive woofer is combined with
a horn-loaded compression driver. The slanted baffle and wide dispersion pattern allow it to be mounted overhead to cover a wide seating
area. High power handling allows designers to use fewer enclosures to
cover a given seating area, reducing costs for both equipment and
installation. This system's powerful, full range frequency response provides detailed, natural reproduction of the 360° aural arena.

COMPONENTS & CONSTRUCTION
The full range cinema surround loudspeaker system employs one 15-in
cone transducer mounted in an optimally vented enclosure and one
1-in exit, titanium diaphragm compression driver mounted to a 90

dispersion pattern constant directivity horn. The subsystems are integrated with a complex, multicomponent, passive crossover and equalization network.
The enclosure is constructed of 15-mm thickness, void-free, cross-grainlaminated birch plywood. Extensive internal bracing is employed to
minimize panel resonances resulting from the large acoustical energies
generated within the enclosure while maximizing acoustical energy transfer into the audience area. Input connectors, located on the top of the
enclosure, are two-terminal barrier strip, designed to accommodate bare
wire, tinned leads or spade lugs. The enclosure is finished in flat black
polyurethane and includes a black cloth grill. For safety, the grill is attached with multiple threaded fasteners.
