passthrough. It is adjustable by turning the volume dial on either the left or right ear
cup, forwards for an increase in volume and backwards for a decrease in volume. The
volume is limited to 82 dB(A) which allows for 8 hours of operation at maximum sound
exposure.
Bluetooth function
Bluetooth is the name of a technical standard for short range wireless transmission,
with a working range of approximately 10 metres. This headset can be used with other
Bluetooth units that support the following proles: headset prole (HSP), hands-free
(HFP), or streaming audio (A2DP).
Bluetooth pairing (Linking two Bluetooth devices)
Pairing mode can only be reached from the OFF state. Turn on the headset by holding
the multifunction button for 4 seconds. After 1 second a voice will prompt “power on”,
and after a further 3 seconds a three note scale will be played indicating Bluetooth
pairing mode.
Perform a search for new devices on the remote Bluetooth unit. Select your EAVE
headset, as detailed on the product sticker “EAVE XXX” A voice prompt will confirm
with the message “Your headset is connected” the first time the devices are paired and
“Paired” every time the devices are reconnected. The headset will remember the last
paired device and automatically re-pair until Bluetooth pairing mode is re-entered.
Ensure a reliable connection has been made before relying on Bluetooth for safety
critical information.
Bluetooth volume
The Bluetooth volume setting adjusts the volume level from the Bluetooth source. It
is adjustable by turning the volume dial on either the left or right side ear cup. The

Important user information
In environments with more than 85 dB noise level, hearing protection must be worn. The
hearing receptors in the inner-ears may be irreparably damaged if hearing protectors
are partially removed for even a very short time in a noisy environment.
The headset must be worn, adjusted, cleaned and maintained in accordance with this
manual. As with any hearing protector, incorrect use or failure to follow the instructions
supplied with this product could result in permanent disability due to exposure to noise.
This ear defender is provided with level-dependent attenuation. The wearer should
check correct operation before use. If distortion or failure is detected, the wearer should
refer to the manufacturer’s advice for maintenance. Do not turn down environmental
passthrough below a sensible level such that any warning sound for the given
environment can still be heard.
For best protection, brush aside excess hair around the ears to ensure the cushions
snugly against the head. The arms of any spectacles or goggles worn should be as
thin as possible to allow the hearing protector to t closely to the head, minimising any
acoustic leakage. The acoustic seal may be adversely affected by wearing other PPE
such as respirators, If in doubt, contact your safety ofcer or EAVE. Do not put excessive
force on the ear cushion as it may damage the cushion.
This hearing protector is provided with electrical audio input. The wearer should check
correct operation before use. If distortion or failure is detected, the wearer should refer
to the manufacturers advice. When passthrough is switched off, ambient sounds may
not be heard, which could be hazardous. Other than for broadcast signal receivers, the
range of input signal levels for which this limitation is maintained.
Warning
Performance may deteriorate with battery usage. It is not recommended to use the
headset while it is charging. The output of the level-dependent circuit of this hearing
protector may exceed the external sound level. The output of the electrical audio circuit
of this hearing protector may exceed the daily limit sound level. The audibility of
warning signals at a specic workplace may be impaired while using the entertainment
facility.
