Accessories for Barndoor & Accessory Frame
Please take a moment to read these safety precautions and instructions.
Spending a few moments now will ensure years of use in the future.
1 Read and understand all instructions.
2 Care must be taken as burns could occur from touching the model-
ing lamp(s) or flash tube(s).
3 Do not install or remove any accessory until the flash head is dis-
connected from power pack.
4 Allow flash heads and accessories to cool completely before storing
or removing accessories or flash head.
5 Do not let cords or cables hang on or touch hot accessories or sur-
faces.

Barndoor & Accessory Frame Instructions
Your new Dynalite Barndoor/Accessory Frame is designed to provide creative light control and interface Dynalite flash heads with Lowel
trol accessories.
1 The Barndoor and Accessory Frame mounts onto the accessory ring
on the front of all Dynalite flash heads. It can be removed by push
ing out two adjacent sides while pulling one corner forward.

The following list of Lowel® light control accessories can be used with the
Dynalite Barndoor and Accessory Frame. You can purchase these accessories at any authorized Lowel dealer.
Lowel Light Control Accessories:
Full Scrim (#01-54): Reduces light intensity by approximately one “f” stop.
Half Scrim (#01-55): Covers half of reflector and rotates 360º. Darkens
washed out foregrounds, compensates for subjects
“burning up” as they approach the light.
Graduated Scrim (#01-56): Same principle as Half Scrim, but effect is more
gradual.
Clear Glass Filter (#01-52): Absorbs U.V. light rays (see warnings).
Diffused Glass (#01-50): Softens highlights and shadows. Absorbs U.V. light
rays (see warnings).
Cookaloris (#01-53): Produces an overall soft shadow pattern, can be used
to “break up” a plain background.
Snoot: Produces a reduced circle of light.
2 Both hold up to two accessories (Lowel scrims, diffusion glass, etc.)
and rotates a full 360º.
3 All doors have two extending wings which can be used for maximum
light control or creating special shadows.
4 Locking door fasteners requires ¼ turn to remove or install.
5 If Barndoor fails to maintain proper mounting tension, the frame
should be removed and squeezed inward very slightly.
When inserting Lowel Accessories, handles are sprung together to insert
or Remove from Barndoor or Accessory Frame. When a wire scrim and
glass accessory are used together, the wire scrim should be placed closest
to the lamp to reduce the possibility of damage to the glass accessory.
