Assembly
1. The winch handle is screwed onto the winch followed by the spring and nut as shown below.
2. Use a 3/4" wrench and tighten the nut. The threads on the winch are tapered, so the nut will stop prior to running out of threads in the winch.
3. The 2 in x 15 ft long Polyester web strap with hoop and hook is mounted to the winch using the 3/8-16 x 3-1/2" long Grade 8 Hex Head Cap Screw, two 3/8" Stainless Steel Flat Washers and one 3/8-16 Stainless Steel Nyloc Nut. Insert the Hex Head Bolt through the loop in the strap as shown below.

4. Once the strap and hardware are installed, tighten the 3/8-16 Stainless Steel Nyloc Nut using a 9/16" wrench or socket and ratchet until the flat washers are just snug to the winch. Do not over tighten.
Tighten just snug enough to have washer flush to winch.
5. Wind up the web strap onto the winch.
6. Extra hardware is included for mounting the DXE-VRW-1 Winch to the High Performance DX Engineering vertical antennas.
