IMPORTANT UNPACKING
INSTRUCTIONS
The DX Engineering RT4500HD Rotator must be carefully unpacked to
avoid damage or injury. The DXE-RT-4500HD weighs approximately 22
pounds. Please review this important information.
1. Upon opening the box (there is a label indicating “This Side Up” on
the box). Carefully slit the tape and open the box. Set the enclosed
instruction manual aside. There are three pieces of custom cut foam
holding the rotator in place for shipping.
2. When the box is opened – carefully roll the box
upside down on your workbench. Lift the box upward.
The rotator and packing foam, will slide out. The top
piece of foam may stay in the box. If so, remove the
Hardware Package and set aside. If the top foam stays
on the rotator, lift the foam off of the rotator and remove
the Hardware Package and set it aside.
3. Lift the second piece of foam upward, pressing the connector as
shown. Once the connector is released from the foam, remove the foam.

4. The rotator will be upside down (lifting
handle showing). Pull the rotator out of the
bottom piece of foam and set the rotator on
your work bench upside down (lifting handle is
upwards).
NOTE: The lifting handle must always be used when transporting
the rotator and when raising it up the tower.
Do NOT lift the rotator by the round rotator plate.
A snap ring holds the top plate in position and it is not designed to
hold the weight of the rotator. If you hold the rotator by the top plate,
you risk having the snap ring fail and the rotator will then drop away
from the top plate.
