Phillystran Guy Lines - Adjusting Tension
The question has come up about how to adjust the tension on Phillystran Guy Lines. The following is the recommended installation technique when using Phillystran guy lines on a tower.
Since the jacket on Phillystran is somewhat soft, the normal method of using a Loos Tension Gage directly on the Phillystran guy line is not recommended. The recommended method is to install a steel Tail Kit between the ground anchor and the Phillystran. This provides you with two things that are important. 1. It allows the use of the Loos Tension Gage and 2. It protects your Phillystran Guy lines from accidental damage at or near ground level from animals chewing on it to mowers bumping into it and cutting the Phillystran jacket.
The Tail Kits available from DX Engineering:

Once the tail kits are properly installed, you then have a steel cable and the Loos Tension Gage
