Handheld Programmer
Operating Instructions

Step 1 : Basic operation
These instructions relate to the use of the Handheld Programmer only.
To turn on the programmer lift the rubber flap on the base, this will expose the switch and USB connection, move the switch in to the ON position, the unit will now power up. Refit the rubber flap (see Program­mer layout). Once powered on, the clock and date must be reset.
Using the left and right navigation buttons you can switch from menu to menu.
Once you have selected the menu you wish to change, use the up and down buttons to enter the part of the program you wish to change, when you have done this, use the left and right buttons to change the settings.
When you are happy with the settings, point the programmer at the sensor and press the send button (see Programmer layout). When the sensor is set a confirmation tick will appear on the screen.
IM PORTAN T: You must point the programmer away
from the sensor and leave for a minimum of 30 seconds before attempting to use, this allows the sensor to recalibrate. Attempting to use before this time may cause the sensor to lock up or false trigger.

Step 2 : Data processing
To upload data on the programmer ensure the computer is on and Microsoft Excel is loaded. Turn on the Programmer using the isolation switch and connect the USB cable via the USB port. The cable will then need to be connected to the computer. The Programmer will then display a menu giving the option to ‘download’ or ‘charge’, press the ‘OK’ button to begin download, then ‘download’ will be displayed on screen. The data will then automatically upload into the Excel spread sheet and display ‘complete’.
IM PORTAN T: Microsoft Excel must be opened prior to download.
Step 3 : Charging
The Programmer requires a universal USB charging device. If being charged by computer connect the USB cable to the Programmer and then to the computer. The Programmer will then display a menu giving the option to ‘download’ or ‘charge’, follow prompts to ‘press any button’ to begin charging and display ‘charging’ on screen. Allow to trickle charge for a minimum of 8 hours.
IM PORTAN T: Charging for longer than 8 hours will not affect battery life or cause damage to the Programmer.
