This device is an ideal solution for applications where the switcher must be located in a remote area outside of the normal range of the switcher’s IR Remote Control unit. Thanks to its small profile and unobtrusive design, the DVI-4101 can be mounted in an inconspicuous location where it can receive commands from the switcher’s IR Remote Control unit. These commands are then sent to the switcher using a supplied 4.9 foot (1.5 meter) 3.5 mm interconnection cable.
2.0 SPECIFICATIONS
To use the DVI-4101, first power OFF the switcher and disconnect the unit’s external power supply. Next connect the 3.5 mm interconnect cable to the receptacle on the back side of the switcher labeled “Remote” or “Extender IR”. Next connect the other end of the interconnect cable to the 3.5 mm receptacle on the back side of the DVI-4101. Finally, reconnect the switcher’s external power supply and power ON the switcher. Verify that the switcher accepts all remote control commands that are directed at the DVI-4101.
Remote IR Receiver Input
IR commands are sent from the DVI-4101 to the switcher via an interconnect cable. The cable plugs into a 3.5mm receptacle on the back of the DVI-4101.
NOTE: When the DVI-4101 is connected to the switcher, the switcher’s front panel IR receiver is disabled.
