WORK AREA SAFETY
• Do not operate vac uum in explosive atm ospheres. Spar ks
from sta tic electrici ty or the motors may i gnite dust or
fumes.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• Connect to a prope rly grounded ou tlet. See ground ing
instructions.
• Always unplug unit w hen not in use and bef ore servicin g.
• Electrical com ponents are not us er serviceab le. Refer all
servi ce to a qualied repa ir technician.
• Do not handle plug o r operate vacuum wi th wet hands.
PERSONAL SAFETY
• Do not allow to be used a s a toy. Close attention i s necessary wh en
used by or ne ar children.
• Do not change lter s, clean the unit, o r empty the tank unt il
the plug ha s been disconnec ted from the ele ctrical outle t.
• Use special care wh en emptying he avily loaded can isters.
• Keep hair, loose cloth ing, ngers and al l parts of body
away from op enings and movin g parts. There i s a risk of
injury through getting stuck or being drawn into moving
mac hiner y.
• Use extra care wh en working on sta irs.
• Injury to the eyes an d/or body can occur if p rotective
clothing a nd/or equipment is n ot worn. Always wear s afety
goggles, protective clothing, hearing protection, and a dust
mask. E xposure to high nois e levels can cause h earing loss
or impairment. Wear OSHA-approved hearing protection
when using this vacuum.
TOOL USE AND CARE
• Always check the lt ers before each us e. Do not use withou t
a dust coll ection bag and l ters in place.
• Do not use with damag ed cord or plug.
• Do not use if vacuum is n ot working as it sho uld.
• Do not pull or carr y by the cord, use cord as a h andle, close
a door on cor d, or pull cord aroun d sharp edges or corn ers.
Do not run v acuum over cord. Keep c ord away from heated
surfaces.
• Do not unplug by pull ing on cord. To unplug, gra sp the
plug, not t he cord
• Turn o all contr ols before unplu gging.
• Take notice of all s afety and haz ard notices on the vac uum.
• All safety and ha zard notices on the v acuum must be kept
complete and legible.
• Changes, add-ons, or conversions of the vacuum which
might have an i nuence to the safe ty of the vacuum
must not b e undertaken wi thout the permiss ion of the
manufacturer. This applies in particular to the tting and
adjustm ent of safety dev ices and to welding o n major and
load-bearing parts.
• Repla cement parts mus t always comply wit h the technical
requirements and the specications of the manufacturer.
This is always guaranteed with original replacement parts
from the manufacturer.
• Inspe ction interva ls and times for recu rring checks sp ecied
in these Operating Instructions must be complied with.
• In the even t of operational m alfunction th e vacuum must be
shut down im mediately. The mal function must b e rectied
before starting the vacuum again.
• The dus t bin of the dust colle ctor has to be empti ed before
transportation.
• Should d ust begin to blow ou t of the vacuum, it mus t be
shut down , cleaned (includ ing the motor housin g) and the
proble m xed before retu rning to service . Failure to do
so could pu t dangerous dust in t he air and will void the
warranty.
SERVICE
• Adjust ments, servi cing, and inspec tion work and inspe ction
interv als specied in th ese Operating In structions, a s well as
any inform ation on the replac ement of parts an d systems of the
vacuum mus t be undertake n and complied with .
• These a ctivities can o nly be underta ken by qualied
personnel.
• Make sure t hat electrica l components use d for replacement
comply wi th the original par ts and are correc tly adjusted if
nec essar y.
• Befor e performing an y maintenance, place t he vacuum in
the safe ty o position wh ich is the position o f the vacuum
when it ca nnot generate any ha zard. To do this, switch
o the dust co llector, pull out m ain plugs, and secu re the
vacuum ag ainst unintende d start up.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
• Do not tr y to recover any liqui d with this vacuum. T his
vacuum is fo r DRY RECOVERY only.
• Do not us e to pick up ammable or c ombustible liqu ids,
such as gasoline.
• Do not pi ck up any objects th at are burning or smo king,
such as ciga rettes, matches , or hot ashes.
• Dispos e of the dust so that you m eet the requirem ents of
local regulations.
• WARNING - to r educe the risk of ele ctric shock - Do
not use on we t surfaces. Do no t expose to rain. Sto re
indoors.
• CAUTION - This appliance has more than one
connec tion to the source of su pply. To reduce the risk of
elect ric shock - disconn ect all such conne ctions before
servicing.

use.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
This appl iance must be groun ded. If it should ma lfunction or b reak down,
groundi ng provides a path of l east resistance f or electric cur rent to reduce
the risk of e lectric shock . This appliance i s equipped with a co rd having an
equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be
inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING - Im proper connec tion of the equipm ent-grounding co nductor can resul t in a risk of electr ic shock. Check
with a quali ed electri cian or service p erson if you are in do ubt as to whether the o utlet is properl y grounded. Do no t modify
the plug pr ovided with the ap pliance – if it will not t the outlet, have a pr oper outlet inst alled by a qualie d electrician .
This appl iance is for use on a nom inal 120-V circuit, and ha s a grounded plug th at looks like the pl ug illustrated in s ketch A.
A tempora ry adapter that l ooks like the adap ter illustrated i n sketches B and C may be use d to connect this pl ug to a 2-pole
recepta cle as shown in sketch B i f a properly groun ded outlet is not ava ilable. The temp orary adapter s hould be used onl y
until a prop erly grounded o utlet (sketch A) can be i nstalled by a quali ed electri cian. The green col ored rigid ear, lug, o r the
like ext ending from the ada pter must be conne cted to a permane nt ground such as a prop erly grounded o utlet box cover.
Wheneve r the adapter is used , it must be held in pl ace by a metal screw. Exc eption: In Canada , the use of a temporar y adapter
is not per mitted by the Cana dian Electric al Code, C22.1.
