The MXR Distortion III can be powered by one 9-volt battery

(accessed by removing the bottom plate of the pedal), a Dunlop
ECB-003 AC adapter (ECB-003E in Europe) or a Dunlop DCB-10 DC

DIRECTIONS

To begin using your MXR Distortion III:
A) Run a cable from your guitar to the D-III’s Input jack and run

another cable from the D-III’s Output jack to your amplifier.
B) Set all of the D-III’s controls to their 12 o’clock position
C) Turn the effect on by depressing the footswitch. The illuminated LED

indicates the unit is on.
D) Dial in the amount of desired distortion by adjusting the

DISTORTION knob.
E) Adjust the tone to your liking by using the TONE knob.
F) Use the OUTPUT knob to set the desired volume level of the effect.
