Installation
Installation is straight forward.
Inputs to the switch should be taken from the headphone jack on your transceiver. These are usually standard 1/4-inch stereo (3-circuit) jacks.
The input jacks on the rear of the 842 are 3.5mm (1/8-inch) mono and are marked “L” for LEFT radio and “R” for RIGHT radio. Two cords are required with 3.5mm plugs on one end and a plug to match your transceiver on the other. If you use stereo plugs, only the tip (and sleeve) connection is required. Sheilded cable is prefered for the cords though not absolutely required.
Operation:
Set levels by plugging your headphones into the unit. Move the SELECT switch to the ‘Mix’ position. Set the MIX knob pointer to center position. Adjust your transceiver volume controls for equal volume in each ear.
Tune in signals on each radio, then rotate the
MIX control left to right The
level will now follow the control to one side or the other.
Moving the select switch to
LEFT, STEREO or RIGHT will cause you to
hear only
LEFT or RIGHT radio or equal levels STEREO from left and
right radio.
