DESCALE REGULARLY
3
Use descaling products suitable for kitchen appliances, these are readily available online or from most supermarkets or department stores. Use as per instructions on the packet.
Follow these few simple steps to minimise scale build up: Empty the percolator after each use; do not allow water to stand in the percolator overnight. Use ltered water instead of tap water. Descale regularly, at least once a month. If you live in a hard water area you may need to descale more often. When descaling
has nished, empty the percolator and rinse
it out a minimum of 3 times with fresh water,
then rell with fresh water, boil, then discard
boiled water. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN CAUSE INJURY.
DO NOT OPERATE PERCOLATOR
WITH DESCALING SOLUTION IN IT.
Remove the percolator from the power base and lift the lid off. Then remove the basket assembly.
Fill the percolator with the required amount of water. The capacity, in cups, is marked on the inside wall of the percolator, minimum 4 cupfuls of water and a maximum of 10.
Do not overll; boiling water may be
ejected, causing a scalding hazard.
For coffee, put the required amount of course, ground coffee in the basket by referring to the cup indicator marks which correspond with the water indicator in the percolator.
Tip: When lling the basket, put a nger over
the centre tube to prevent coffee grounds from falling through.
