HOW TO USE
• Position the power base as close to a
wall socket as possible. Locate the
mains cable so that it does not
overhang the work surface, and
cannot be caught accidentally.
Shorten the mains lead by winding it
around the cord storage area under
the power base, and bring it out of
the cord exit in the base.

• Remove the kettle from the power
base. If the switch has been pushed
down inadvertently, it will spring up,
into the “Off” position.
• Hold the kettle handle firmly in one
hand, hold the lid knob in the other,
and pull the lid straight up. As soon as
it separates from the kettle, move it
out of the rising steam.

• Open the lid and fill the kettle
via the lid aperture. Not through
the spout.
• Observe water level when filling, you
must use at least one cup of water,
but the water level must be below the
Max mark.
• Do not overfill the kettle. If the
kettle is overfilled, there is a risk that
boiling water may be ejected from
the spout and lid.
• Replace the lid and ensure it is
firmly in place. Check that it is fully
closed, otherwise the kettlemay not
switch off when boiling.

• Remove all packaging from the kettle
and its power base. Before using the
kettle for the first time, or if it has
been out of use for a long time,
fill to the max mark and boil, then
discard the boiled water and rinse the
kettle out with fresh cold water.

• Check that the voltage marked on
the appliance corresponds with the
supply voltage.
• NOTE: Any plug cut from power
supply cord should be disposed
of immediately. Inserting any cut
off plug into a 13A socket-outlet
is hazardous.

• Never use the plug without the
fuse cover fitted. Ensure replacement
fuse is the same current value
as original.
• Replacement fuses are available from
Dualit and should be ASTA approved
to BS 1362.
• When filling or carrying the kettle, do
not tilt it backwards, as this may allow
water to pass through the steam tube
onto the control area. Should this
happen, the kettle must be allowed to
dry before reuse.
• To avoid the risk of splashing, pour

IF THE KETTLE HAS JUST

THE LID IS OPENED.

• Do not switch the kettle on unless it
contains at least one cup of water.
Misuse of this kind will shorten the
life of the kettle.
• If the kettle is accidentally switched
on when it does not contain sufficient
water, a boil-dry device will
automatically switch it off. Wait until
the kettle has cooled down before
refilling. The lid may be hot and the
water may spit as it touches the kettle
base.

• Check that the switch is in the
“Off” position (lift the kettle
from the power base and set it
down again taking care not to
spill any water). The switch will
only operate when the kettle is
correctly fitted onto the base.
• Plug the power base into the wall
socket. If necessary, switch on the
wall socket.
• Press the switch down. The neon
light will light up and the kettle
will start to heat up.
• When the water has boiled the
kettle will automatically switch off,
the switch will return to the “Off”
position and the neon light will
go out.
NOTE: When you lift the kettle
from the base, you
will see drops of moisture
on the surface of the power
base. This is the steam used to
switch the kettle off
automatically, which then
condenses and escapes via
vents in the underside of the
kettle. This is perfectly normal,
and should not be cause for
alarm or returning the kettle.
• Remove the kettle from the power
base before pouring.
• Do not allow the mains lead to hang
over the edge of the worktop, or
anywhere it may accidentally be caught
or tripped over.

down before cleaning and storing.

switching the kettle on, otherwise it
may not properly switch off.
• Ensure that the kettle is correctly
placed onto the power base before
switching on.
• Do not fill above the bottom of the
max mark on the water level indicator.
