DT Research WebDT 550/570, a
15-inch (WebDT 550) or 17-inch
(WebDT 570) TFT display-inte-
grated, thin computing platform,
oering adaptability to mounting
configurations and many applica-
tions, including information appliance,
thin client for server computing, and
disk drive-equipped options.
Please take a few moments to review the contents of
this document to ensure that the setup and startup
proceed smoothly. The WebDT 550/570 is ready for
use, out of the box, in its default configuration when
powered by the power source provided. The following
discussion oers guidance on the hardware elements
and features of the WebDT 550/570. Please refer to
your device provider for information pertaining to the
software operating system or software applications.

Precautions
Always exercise care when operating and

Never disassemble any portion of the enclosure,

as this will void any product warranty on the
WebDT 550/570.
Do not use any AC/DC adapter other than the one

provided with the device or a replacement acquired
from the manufacturer.
In the unlikely event that smoke, abnormal noise,

or strange odor is present, immediately power
down the WebDT 550/570 and disconnect all
power sources. Please report the problem to your
device provider immediately.

for quick setup and an optimal out-of-box experience.
The WebDT 550/570 is packaged with recyclable materials and

designed for maximum protection in transportation and handling.
When possible, please save the packaging carton and protective inserts

for re-use if there is ever a need to ship the WebDT 550/570.
THE WebDT 550/570
The WebDT 550/570 is designed to meet the needs of
a wide range of deployments requiring ecient and
manageable, local and networked, computing. Built
on a high-integration, fanless platform, the WebDT
550/570 supports embedded as well as full Windows
applications. The durable, bright display highlights
a package that features low power operation, and
optional touch-screen and wireless computing.
Side I/O Panel
The WebDT 550/570 has four (4) USB 2.0-compliant
ports together with Line-In and Audio-Out ports
located and easily accessible along the left edge of
the display unit.
Lower I/O Panel
The WebDT 550/570 has a comprehensive set of I/O
ports. The following ports are located along the lower
rear edge of the display unit.

Button Description

MENUPressing this button will perform one of the following:
Power
–Pressing this button outside of the MENU function
+Pressing this button outside of the MENU function
This button is programmable via software in the
applicable operating systems.
invoke the MENU for display or device related

features that are adjustable;
engage a highlighted MENU or Sub-MENU item;

enter or exit Adjustment mode for MENU or

Sub-MENU item
May be configured to perform dierent functions,

depending on the software operating system.
Depending on the OS, a brief, firm push will
4
trigger software-enabled entry into Shutdown or
Standby modes. Push in similar manner to Restart
or to exit Standby mode.
Push and hold for over 4 seconds to forcefully
4
shut down the device. This method of powering
o should only be used when proper shutdown
through software is not possible.
The POWER button is green when the device is
4
active (i.e.: device is not in Standby or Shutdown
mode, but display may be dark.)

The WebDT 550/570 is designed to be secured to VESAcompliant mounting arms or stands. This is accomplished by detaching the standard metal base from the
rear of the display unit. The VESA-compliant mounting
holes at the rear of the device will mate with VESA arms
to meet the requirements of the deployment.

unscrewing the four screws
attaching the base to the
display.

ant mounting arm or stand to
the display using the same
screws removed in step 1.

OPTIONS
The WebDT 550/570 has a number of optional configurations in both software and hardware. These include:
