The Drifta USB Mobile Decoder

Included with the Drifta USB device are a USB cable,

application CD and this quick guide.

1. Antenna for receiving the DVB-H signal. This can be
extended and positioned vertically to improve
signal reception.

2. DVB-H signal light indicates the status of DVB-H
reception:

4. CAS Number is used in conjunction with the Device

Serial Number when activating the device.

5. The USB cable allows you to extend the USB
connection.

Introduction

Welcome to the exciting world of DStv Mobile. With
your Drifta USB Mobile Decoder, you will be able to
connect to DVB-H broadcast mobile TV and have
access to DStv Mobile content live on your PC or
Mac.

This guide will help you connect the Drifta USB to
your PC or Mac so you can start watching right
away.

Connecting to a Windows PC

Requirements

• Operating System: Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8 Desktop

• Processor: 32 or 64 Bit

• Minimum Memory: 512MB

• Minimum Disk Space: 100 MB

• Ports: USB Port

Installing the Application

Important: Do not connect the Drifta to the computer

before installing the application.

1. Insert the Drifta application CD and run the Windows

setup application.

2. Follow the steps and complete the installation.

Connecting to an Apple Mac

Requirements

• Mac OS X 10.6.8 or higher

• Minimum Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo

• Minimum Memory: 1 GB

• Minimum Disk Space: 100 MB

• Ports: USB Port

Installing the Application

Download the application from the Mac App store by
doing the following:

1. Using the App Store application on the Mac, search

for “Drifta”.

2. A free application from MultiChoice called “Drifta”
will appear in the search results.

3. Install this application.

Activating on DStv Mobile

STEP 1. Turn the device on, by pressing and
holding the Power Button.
STEP 2. With the device powered on call
the relevant MultiChoice customer
care number:

Nigeria: [phone]

STEP 3. Provide the customer service

representative with your serial
and CAS numbers found on the
bottom of your drta.

Activating on GOtv Mobile

Activate your Walka on the Gotv Mobile service by
SMSing 'ACTM', the device CAS number (found on
the bottom of the device) and your mobile phone
number to the number specic to your country.

Using the Application

1. Press and hold the power button on the Drifta
until it turns on. Wait for the DVB-H light to go

steady green. This may take up to 3 minutes

when using the Drifta for the rst time.

2. Connect the Drifta to your computer with a

USB cable or via Wi-Fi.

3. Launch the Drifta application on
your computer.

4. If required, the application will perform a
rmware upgrade or scan for available
channels.

5. Click a channel logo to watch the channel.

6. Click a channel line-up to view the channel

schedule.
