Preface

This guarantees that you will be able to enjoy using his product for many years to come. This appliance is provided with a CE mark. Gas appliances that comply with the safety, environment and energy consumption requirements (the so-cal­led essential requirements) from the European gas appliances directive, are entitled to carry the CE mark. Installation and maintenance of your appliance should be performed by a skil­led technician in the fi eld of atmospheric gas heating. Two manuals are supplied with the appliance: the instructions for installation and the operator instructions. The operator instructions will provide you with the information you need to operate the appliance properly and safely. Carefully read these operator instructions before using the appliance.

SOLO - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Keep the operator instructions and instructions of installation in a safe place. As a user, you are only allowed to perform the work described in the operator instructions. Any other work should be performed by a skilled installer. In case of questions or doubts, please contact your installer. The following symbols are used in the manual to indicate important information:

1. Introduction
Solo is a freestanding, closed atmospheric gas heating appliance. A closed appliance does not extract the combustion air from the living en­vironment, but from outside. This is done through a combined fl ue gas di­scharge system / combustion air supply system. This system can be installed through the wall, or through the roof. The combined fl ue gas discharge system/combustion air supply system can be supplied in the colour of the appliance. The appliance is supplied with a battery powered wireless remote control.
2. SAFETY
2.1 General
Caution
- Carefully read this chapter on safety;
- Observe the precautions/instructions in this manual.
2.2 Precautions / safety instructions
Carefully observe the following precautions/instructions:
installation and maintenance of your appliance should be performed by a skil-
led installer in the  eld of atmospheric gas heating;
do not make any changes to the appliance yourself;
maintenance should be performed at least once per year;
close the gas tap, if the appliance ignites with a pop/ignites poorly, and contact
the installer;
close the gas tap in case of malfunction/poor working order of the appliance
and contact the installer;
a torn or broken pane should be replaced immediately;
make sure that combustible objects or materials such as curtains, are at least
50 cm away from the appliance and/or the discharge pipes;

do not dry clothes, towels, etc. on the appliance;
avoid contact with hot parts of the appliance to prevent burns;
do not leave children and persons who cannot properly judge the consequen-
ces of their actions alone with a burning appliance;
keep the remote control out of reach from children and persons who cannot
properly judge the consequences of their actions.
3. Putting the appliance in operation
3.1 First time
When heating for the fi rst time, you may notice an unpleasant smell, caused by the evaporation of volatile components from paint, materials, etc.. This may last several hours.
!Tip
- Set the appliance to its highest level, to speed up the evaporation process;
- Make sure the room is well ventilated.
!Caution
- Pets and birds in particular can be sensitive to the vapours that are released;
- At the start, the  ame image is a ected by the evaporation of volatile com­ponents.
3.2 Protection
In order to prevent unsafe situations, you must carefully observe the following precautions/instructions.
Caution
- Always make sure that combustible objects or materials such as curtains are at least 50 cm away from the appliance and/or the discharge pipes;
- Do not dry clothes, towels, etc. on the appliance, in order to prevent  re;
- Avoid contact with hot parts of the appliance to prevent burns;
- Do not leave children and persons who cannot properly judge the conse­quences of their actions alone with a burning appliance;
- Keep the remote control out of reach from children and persons who cannot properly judge the consequences of their actions.
3.3 Discolouration of walls and ceilings
Brown discolouration is an unpleasant problem that is not easy to solve. Brown discolouration can be caused by burning substances resulting from inadequate ventilation, smoking, burning candles, oil lamps, etc. Cigarette and cigar smoke contains tarry matter that is deposited on colder walls. These problems can be (partly) prevented through proper ventilation of the room where the appliance is installed.
