Congrat ulations on your purch ase of the DSL self- installation pack age, which, combine d with an Interne t access servic e, enables you to enjoy a high -speed Intern et connection. It is a p erfect solution f or all our customers wh o need to increase the ef ficiency of workin g on the Internet, reduce the t ime necessar y for downloading larg e data volumes, and he nce make full use of the Internet . Please carefully rea d this Guide describin g the procedure of equip ment installation an d the ser vices for high-s peed DSL access to the I nternet using a stand ard telephone line or an I SDN line. The ins tallation is ver y easy – you can do it your self by following the en closed procedure s and diagrams.

Installing the DSL Connection on a Standard Telephone Line
Check the socket of your standard telephone line.
1. Your standard telephone line must be terminated w ith a separate socket with a single RJ 11 connector (s ee figure on the right). If t here are several sockets (paralle l sockets), find out, w hich one is the main socket (primary).
2. If your te lephone socket is unsuitable (it has a differe nt connector) or if ther e are other sockets connected to it (parallel so ckets) which cann ot be disconnected, contact t he Fault Repor ting Centre a t 12129.
3. There should not be an alarm (s ecurity device) connected to your te lephone line. Switch the al arm off before the ins tallation; otherwise the ala rm may become dysfunc tional. Connect the alarm back after you have succ essfully install ed the DSL connection.

DSL splitter
You can install your DSL Connection an d DSL router DrayTek Vigor 2600 VGST using the enclosed m anual or the installat ion CD Internet. If you ch ose the latter, inser t the enclosed CD to your computer’s drive. I f the content does not open automatically, launch th e START.EXE programme from the CD’s main director y. On the title page, select “Inš talácia DSL int ernetu” from the main menu and then “Inšta lácia DSL pripo jenia”.

Follow the in stallation ste ps bellow:
1. Pull out the cable conne cting other devices, such as a telephone, other telephone s ockets, fax, or modem, from the telephone socket.
2. Plug the p ulled-out cab le end to the splitter port labelled PHONE.
3. Use the separate c able included in the installa tion package (both jacks identica l – RJ 11) to connect the telepho ne socket with the split ter port labelled LINE.
4. Use the other cable (with connectors of different sizes), to connect DSL router DrayTek Vigor 2600 VGST with the splitter. Plug the bigger connector of the cable into the larger port on the back of the DSL router labelled ADSL; plug the smaller connector of the cable in the splitter port labelled DSL.
5. Proceed with the DSL router installation by following the instructions on page 14.

Your ISDN line is terminated with a telephone socket with an RJ 11 connector (see figure on page 5). The telephone socket is connected to the ISDN – NT end point (euro NTBA).
Legend to a suitable NT:

3. Use the other cable (with connectors of different sizes), to connect DSL router DrayTek Vigor 2600 VGST with the splitter. Plug the bigger connector of the cable into the larger port on the back of the DSL router labelled ADSL; plug the smaller connector of the cable in the splitter port labelled DSL.
4. Proceed with the DSL router installation by following the instructions on page 14.
If your telep hone socket is unsuit able (it has a differe nt connector) an d the connecti ng cable can not be pulled out , however your NT has a line–i n jack that can be p lugged out (suitable N T – see figure on page 9 ), follow the steps below:
1. Pull out the NT line cable from the socket and plug it into the splitter port labelled LI NE.

If you have a suit able socket, from w hich the connect or can be pulled o ut, follow the ste ps below:
1. Pull out the cable from th e socket and plug it into the splitter por t labelled PHONE.
2. Use the separate c able included in the installation packag e (both connectors are identical – RJ 11) to connec t the telephone socket with t he splitter using the connector labelled LINE.

2. Conn ect the unoccupied s ocket on the NT equipment (in point 1) with the s plitter port labelled PHONE using the s eparate enclosed cable (both connectors identical – RJ 11).
3. Proceed with the third bullet p oint of the preceding procedure.
If your telep hone socket is unsuita ble (it has a differe nt connector – ple ase see figure on page 9) and t he connecting ca ble cannot be pulled out o r your NT has a line–in jac k that cannot be plugged out, contact our Fault Re por tin g Ce ntr e 1212 9.

1. Installation procedure of network set-up on your PC
In order to be able to work with DSL router Vigor 2600 VGST, the network card properties need to be set up properly on your PC. The most convenient solution is to set up TCP/IP protocol properties in a manner enabling to acquire the IP address from the DHCP server, i.e. your Vigor 2600 VGST router. Also, it is necessary to ensure when setting the system that the DNS server address is requested automatically.
You can set up network on your PC taking the following steps:
1. Click on “Štart“ icon.
2. Select item „Nastavenia“.
3. Select item „Ovládací panel“.
4. Click on the icon “Sieťové pripojenia”.
5. Right- click on the icon “Local Area Connection“ and choose ”Vlastnosti“.
6. Click on “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)“ and then “Vlastnosti“.
7. Select “Získať adresu IP automaticky“.
8. Select “Získať adresu servera DNS automaticky“.
9. Click on “OK“.
Connec ting DSL router D rayTek Vigor 2600 VGST to your PC
1. Plug the LA N UTP cable (blue) into the networ k card connector on your PC, the other end of th e cable plug into one of the 4 connecto rs (P1 through P4), e.g. P1 on the back panel of t he router Vigor 2600 VGS T. If you use mor e than 1 PC, connect ano ther computer to th e P2 connector, third one to P3 and four th one to P4 connector.
2. Plug the adapter into power supply (230 V ) and plug the adapter cabl e to the DSL router connecter labelled PWR and then change the switch to “ON” p osition
3. Now, you r DSL router Vigor 260 0 VGST is on and ready for selected configuration over any PC in you r network; you can verify the statu s by a flashing ACT diode and P1 diode glowin g continuously (in case several PCs are connec ted, also P2, P3 and P4 diodes). It i s possible that also the LINK diode will flash on your D SL router as well; this confirms correct confi guration of the DSL line on the part of T- Com.
4. If the W LAN diode glows o n your DSL router Vigor 260 0 VGST, wireles s connection (WiFi) to the D SL router is activate d using a wireles s network card (ma x. 54 Mbps) connecte d to your PC. The default set up of WiFi connectivity enables you to immediately connect to a r outer, which automatical ly assigns a n IP address to your PC. This
means that n o WiFi protecti on is activated on the rout er and for the sake of s ecurity it is recomm ended to set up sec urity as soon as pos sible. More information

Impor tant Notice Pri or to Installat ion In case you used I nternet connec tion on your PC, set you r browser (Intern et Explor er etc.) to disable r equesting Internet co nnection via dia l-up.
In case you us e Internet Expl orer, follow the instructions below:
1. Launch Inte rnet Explorer (c licking on the “Internet Explorer” icon).
2. In the m enu “Tools” choose item “I nternet options“.
3. Select item “Connections”.
4. Confirm “ Never dial a connec tion”.
5. Click “OK“.
2. DSL Router Configurator Launch
After connecting of P Cs to the DSL router, each connected PC will be assigned an IP address w ithin the scope 192.168.1.10 to
192.168.1.60. Launch your Internet brow ser (Internet Explorer etc.) and en ter the address
192.168.1.1 (DSL router address) into the fiel d for addresses (used for e ntering www site s addresses) and pres s “Enter“. Doing so you will connect to your DSL ro uter, which will request a u ser name and passwor d, not set by default. T herefore, all you need to do is click “OK” wi thout entering a user name and password.
The main menu of configur ator is displayed using which you can admini ster and monitor DSL router a ctivity. The menu is in English or Slovak language dep ending on the router firmware version.
In the offer “Rýchle nastaveni a” click on “Prístup do internet u“, on the next page click on link PPPoE/PPPoA and the site PPPoE/ PPPoA in client mode will be displayed:

Testing the Correct Connection

Setting up the p rovider:
To test your Internet connection, first use the test userna me and password on page 20 in section Internet – Internet Connection Functionality Check. After
checking the DSL c onnection functio nality, you can connect to t he Internet using your username and password.
After sett ing all parameters it is nec essary to confirm and sav e the setup in the DSL router by clicking on “Confirm”. Now, your DSL router is configured for Internet connection. You can c heck whether you are really connecte d to the Internet in “Správa systému” by clicking on “Online stav“.
All you need to do now is en ter, from any PC connected to the DS L router, a www address in the respective field in your browser, the DSL router will a utomatically dial the connection a nd you can start sur fing.
This Guide is a brief set of instructions enabling you to launc h the equipment to gain fast Internet co nnection; explanat ion of other functionali ties of the DSL router Vigo r 2600 VGST is available in t he digital guide on the enclosed installation CD.

Telephone – telepho ne/digital line fu nctionalit y check
The dialling tone should be heard from the receiver of your telephone/fax. Try to make a call and check the qual ity of sound in the rece iver. If you installed the d evice correctly, the q uality of sound did not chang e compared to the condi tion prior to the instal lation.
Possible problems:
the dialling tone is no t heard
disturbing so unds (noise, crackling) h eard from the receiv er
calls cannot be m ade from the telephone
Telephone line outag es may occur during the DS L installation; a dig ital line may be functi onal 1 minute after the N T was connected to the spli tter. If these faults have n ot disappeared af ter a repeated check o f the connection car ried out according to t he Guide, contact our Fault
Rep or tin g Ce nt re 1212 9.
Router – DSL Conn ection Functi onality Che ck
Check status of t he indication diodes o n your router and compar e it to the description in cluded in the documenta tion from your DSL rout er manufacturer. The rou ter should be in hiberna ting mode.
Possible problems:
no control on the r outer glowing
status of contr ols not correspon ding to hibernating sta tus of the router
not connected to th e LAN network

Internet – Inter net Connecti on Functionali ty Check
To check whether your rou ter has been install ed correctly and wh ether your DSL line is functional, ch eck the “LINE” LED diod e on your DSL router. If the LED is f lashing, the router is synchronisin g itself with the DSL lin e. To test the Internet connect ion, wait until the LED tur ns solid green.
For testing of the Inte rnet connection, p lease use the following a ccount: Login: dsl@test Password: dsl
To test the DSL function ality of your connec tion, write the web add ress www.t-c om.sk in your Internet brows er (Internet Expl orer, Netscape, Firefox etc .) serving for the pur poses of testing the functional ity of the installat ion. The functionali ty can be tested only o n this web site; access to other web sites wil l be disabled. If the rel evant page is displayed, t he DSL connection is functional. Now you can log in with the l ogin and password yo u were provided by you r
Internet ser vice provider. High -speed Int ernet is ready and yo u can start wor king on and enjoying the In ternet. In case of a ny problems wit h the connect ion, please cont act the Internet Hotl ine 0800 123 777.
