GENERAL INFORMATION
This manual describes the purpose for which this tool has been designed and contains all the necessary information to ensure its correct and safe use.We recommend that this manual is read before any operation of the machine, before performing any kind of adjustment to the machine,and prior to any maintenance tasks. By following all the general safety instructions contained in this manual, it will ensure both machine and operator safety,together with longer life of the tool itself.

GUARANTEE
Draper pumps have been carefully tested and inspected before shipment and are guaranteed to be free from defective materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase except where pumps are hired out when the guarantee period is ninety days from the date of purchase.
Should the pump develop any fault, please return the complete tool to your nearest authorized warranty repair agent or contact Draper Tools Limited, Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO53 1YF. England. Telephone: (023) 8049 4344
If upon inspection it is found that the fault occurring is due to defective materials or workmanship, repairs will be carried out free of charge. This guarantee does not apply to normal wear and tear, nor does it cover any damage caused by misuse, careless or unsafe handling, alterations, accident, or repairs attempted or made by any personnel other than the authorized Draper warranty repair agent.
This guarantee applies in lieu of any other guarantee expressed or implied and variations of its terms are not authorized.
Your Draper guarantee is not effective unless you can produce upon request a dated receipt or invoice to verify your proof of purchase within the 12 month period.
Please note that this guarantee is an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights.

WARNING
Please read the following instructions carefully, failure to do so could lead to serious personal injury.
IMPORTANT
Draper Tools Limited recommends that this machine should not be modified or used for any application other than that for which it was designed. If you are unsure of its relative applications do not hesitate to contact us in writing and we will advise you.
1. Keep out of the reach of children.
2. The diesel transfer pump is designed specifically for the transfer of diesel only from reservoirs, tanks and drums. It is strictly forbidden to use this pump to transfer other liquids, for example: petroleum, alimentary liquids, explosive, corrosive or other flammables.
3. This pump is not designed for use in explosive environments.
4. Do not operate this pump in close proximity to flammable liquids.
5. Only connect the pump to a battery in a well ventilated and lit area.
6. When transferring diesel always wear oil resistant gloves, and wash hands with soap and water after.
7. Never connect the pump to a battery charger or to a current generator.
8. Always use the pump on a level and secure surface, close to the source.
9. Always clear up diesel spillages,to avoid creating dangerous surfaces and pollution.
10. Do not operate this pump below -10°C as diesel freezes.Do not expose the pump to direct sunlight or temperatures exceeding 40°C.
11. In the event of a fire never extinguish with water.Extinguish using CO
2
powder fire extinguisher.
12. Never operate the pump around naked flames or when smoking.
13. If diesel comes in contact with eyes, rinse immediately under cool running water and seek medical attention.
14. If diesel is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

FILTER AND INLET HOSE (FIG 2.)
The transfer pump is supplied with a single 4 metre length of hose, which can be cut to suit the application best. (Recommend Draper Hose Cutters Stock No. 54465).With the hose trimmed accordingly, attach one end to the pump inlet and the other to the pick-up filter. Secure in place with the hose clips.
Note: See optional accessories (page 8) for additional hose.

FILLING GUN AND OUTLET HOSE (FIG 3.)
The outlet hose is fitted onto the filling gun and the pump connection in the same manner. Ensure all the hose clips are tight to avoid leakage of diesel during pumping.
OPERATION & USE

CONNECTING TO POWER SUPPLY (FIG 4.)
For optimum pump use a fully charged battery. (Recommend Draper Battery Analyser Stock No.
65979). The battery must be 40Ah or larger and
fully charged to work the pump comfortably. Ensure the pump is switched off before use. In a well ventilated area connect the pumps cables as follows:
Red to battery positive (+) and black to battery negative (-). ensure a good clean connection has been made.

OPERATION AND USE
WARNING: Diesel is carcinogenic, wear
protective clothing to avoid contact with skin. Prior to pumping, ensure the transfer pump is on a level stable surface, the filter is submerged in the source tank and the filling gun is in the filler nozzle of the vehicle. (Fig 5.)

SWITCH ON/OFF (FIG 6.)
Ensure the trigger on the filling gun is not in the on position. Switch the transfer pump ‘on’ by pulling knob ✪✌upwards.
To switch the pump off, push knob ✪✌downwards.
Note: The pump is self priming.
The maximum running time for 24V is 10 minutes. take care not to flatten the battery on your vehicle.

To begin fluid transfer, insert the nozzle ✫✌into the desired aperture, pull back the trigger ✬✌.It is possible to lock the trigger back using lock ✭✌. To do so pull trigger ✬✌fully back, press button ✭✌, release trigger ✬✌, release button ✭✌. The fluid will continue transferring until the trigger is pulled back fully, releasing the lock.

Before attempting any troubleshooting, repair or maintenance procedures, ensure the pump is empty of diesel, disconnected from the power supply and in a well ventilated area.
