9. PROCEDURE AND APPLICATION GUIDE
Depending on manufacture and model, some engine components do change. Please check with
Autodata or the manufacturer’s data before use.
Component 6
Tensioner locking pin for the Auxiliary belt tensioner.
Used to lock the tensioner for the auxiliary belt
tensioner to allow the auxiliary belt to be removed and
refitted with ease.
Component 2
Camshaft & Fuel Injection pump Locking Pins used to lock
the cam shaft in its times position fit as shown in figure 1
Component 4/5
Crankshaft locking tools used to lock the crankshaft in its
timed position fitted as shown in fig.1. 4 and 5 look similar
but are in fact quite different. The tool used depends on
the application engine number. To identify which tool to use
look at the positioning of the crankshaft timing mark on the
front pulley. Figure 2 use component 4 (T10050) for figure
3 use component 5 (T10100). Both tools will only fit by sliding
in to mesh with the crankshaft pulley from the front of the
engine. 4 and 5 will not fit if lowered into position.
Component 1
Back off the Belt tensioner to allow pin 1 to be fitted to lock the
tensioner in its retracted position as shown. See figure 4.
Component 3
Tensioner Locking Tool – where a hydraulic tensioner has been
used, use component 3 to lock it in its retracted position. See
figure 5.
