POWER SUPPLY
CONNECTING YOUR MACHINE TO THE POWER SUPPLY: (230V ONLY)
To eliminate the possibility of an electric shock your machine has been fitted with a BS approved, non rewireable moulded plug and cable which incorporates a fuse, the value of which is indicated on the pin face of the plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced an approved BS1362 fuse must be used of the same rating, marked thus . The fuse cover is detachable, never use the plug with the cover omitted. If a replacement fuse cover is required, ensure it is of the same colour as that visible on the pin face of the plug (i.e. red). Fuse covers are available from your Draper Tools stockist. If the fitted plug is not suitable, it should be cut off and destroyed. *The end of the cable should now be suitably prepared and the correct type of plug fitted. See below.
*WARNING:
A plug with bare flexible wires exposed is hazardous if engaged in a live power socket outlet. WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. Green and Yellow - Earth, Blue - Neutral, Brown - Live. NOTE:- Model PW2110 is a double insulated machine, and is fitted with a 2 core mains cable.
Blue – Neutral, Brown – Live. As these colours may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows.: The wire which is coloured green and yellow, must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter ‘E’ or by the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter 'N' or coloured black or blue. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter 'L' or coloured red or brown. N.B. Three phase machines must be connected by a qualified electrician.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR PRESSURE WASHERS
1. The pressure washer must be continuously run with water. Dry running may cause serious damage to the seals.
2. Do not store the pressure washer in cold places and protect the machine from freezing conditions.
3. Never leave the pressure washer switched ‘ON’ for more than 1 minute with the spray lance in the ‘OFF’ or closed position. If the unit is left for longer periods the temperature of the water in the pump unit will rise and may damage the pump seals.
4. Do not use the pressure washer in an enclosed area where ventilation may be restricted, never cover the pressure washer whilst in use.
5. For your own safety do not use the pressure washer during a thunderstorm and avoid directing the water jet at the pressure washer or power supply.
6. Never direct the water jet towards persons or animals. The water jet is very powerful and could cause a serious injury.
7. When moving the pressure washer use the handle provided. Do not pull the pressure washer using the high pressure lance hose or mains supply cable.
8. When you have finished using the pressure washer switch the machine ‘OFF’ and disconnect from the power supply. Now discharge any remaining pressure in the high pressure hose by pulling the lance trigger.

MAINTENANCE
- 14 -
WARNING - FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, TURN SWITCH OFF AND REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE POWER SUPPLY OUTLET BEFORE MAINTAINING YOUR PRESSURE WASHER.
Lubrication - Your pressure washer is supplied
as a sealed unit and does not require further lubrication.
(Oil type - 15W40 NON-SYNTHETIC).
Water Filter - Periodically check and clean the water inlet filter 2 Fig.31 to avoid it becoming blocked.
Long Storage - Before a long period of storage, always ensure the machine and hose are completely empty of all fluids. Also clean the water filter 2 Fig. 31. Failure to do so may invalidate warranty.
If the pressure washer has been stored over a long period of time, there is a possibility of calcium build up. This may make instant starting difficult.
To help rectify this problem turn the electric pump unit using a screwdriver as shown in Fig.32 this will prevent the pump unit from drawing excess power.
The pump may also leak when started, this will be due to hardened seals. Once the pump warms up the seals will soften and rectify this.
Motor - The electric motor is fitted with a thermal overload safety switch. The motor will stop if it overheats. Wait 5-10 minutes before starting the pump again and identify the cause of the problem.
Important Note: The upright position is for transportation and storage only.
