Doug Fleenor Design makes a series of Relay Packs that
are controlled by DMX512. These six channel units are
designed to switch up to 15 amp line voltage loads and use
30 amp relays. Line voltage input is on an 18" 12/3 SJ

pigtail(s) fitted with 15 amp parallel blade plug(s) (20 amp
connectors optional). Model DMX6REL15A has one line in pigtail. Model DMX6REL30A has two line in pigtails
(one for channels 1-3, one for channels 4-6). Switched line outputs are on chassis mounted 15 amp parallel blade
receptacles.

Doug Fleenor Design Relay Packs use dry contact air-gap relays. These relays have advantages and
disadvantages over the solid state relays found in dimmer packs. Solid state relays can be switched on and off
rapidly with no wear, but generate heat and leak curr ent even when in the off position. Air-gap relays do not
require cooling and do not leak current, but due to their mechanical design have a finite life span. Doug Fleenor
Design Relay Packs should be used where a true off condition is required (no voltage, no current). They should
not be used in applications where they will be turned on and off rapidly such as in chase lights. Ideal applications
include fog machines, power to moving light fixtures, motorized disco effect s, st r obe lights, fans, etc.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Input signal: 250 Kilobaud, 0.2 volts minimum, 12 volts maximum.
Input circuit: EIA-485 receiver protected against 120 VAC line c ross and transients to 5 KV by two 100

Input connector: Gold plated 5 pin male (Neutrik D-1 series).
Input pass through: Gold plated 5 pin female (Neutrik D-1 series). All five pins are passed through.
Power input: 120 volts, 50/60 hertz, 2 watts (plus load).
Power input plug: NEMA type 5-15P dead front plug standard, others optional.
Power input rating: 15 amps per line input pigtail with standard plug.

Power output: Input power is switched to output.
Power output socket: Nylon NEMA type 5-15R receptacle.
Power output rating: 15 amps per output. Maximum total load is limited by input rating.
Output device: Aromat JTN. Mechanical life: 10,000,000 operations minimum.

Color: Top, bottom and sides: Silver hammer tone. Front and back: Black.
Size and weight: 6.5" deep, 1.7" high, 16" wide, 5 pounds (optional 19” rack adapter # RK16-1).

Signal input specifications meet or exceed DMX512 requirements.

ohm PTC self resetting fuses and four low capacitance transient suppression diodes.

Electrical life: 300,000 operations minimum at 5 Amps.

125,000 operations minimum at 15 Amps.

Warranty: Five years on defects in manufacturing. Output relays are not covered.
