Marconi LV Wireless DMX Receiver

The M arconi W ireless DMX R eceiver (Marconi LV) receives all 512 channels (one universe) of
DMX512 using 2.4 GHz spread spectrum technology. Power in and DMX out are provided on 10"
pigtails with a chassis mounted 'through' connector provided for power. The Marconi LV m ay be
powered by any 4-pin female XLR port (LED or Color Scroller power supply) that uses pins 1 and
4 for power , or by an opti onal 'wal l wart ' adapt er. The power ' thr ough' conn ector passes al l f our pi ns
through so the user does not lose the use of the XLR port from which power is taken.

Marconi pr oducts us e the W-DMX system (inv ented by Wireles s Solut ion s in Sweden) whi ch al low s
up to 16 transmitters and any number of receivers to be used simultaneously in a single venue.
Since any Marconi receiver can listen to any W-DMX transmitter, there has to be a way to tell each
receiver which transmitter to listen to. This is accomplished by Assigning or Linking the Marconi to
a transmitter. The transmitter assignment informati on is held in no n-volatile memory so if t he user
has only one W-DMX transmitter (or keeps his systems separate), the configuration process
described below will only have to be done once.

To a ss ign (link , bin d , etc.) th e Marco n i rec eiv er to a transm itter:

Both the Marconi LV and W -D M X transmitter must be po were d up a nd w ithin range of each other.
Using a p aper clip, press and hold the recessed CONFIG button on the Marconi LV until the ASSIGNED indicator goes off

(about 5 seconds). This will unassign the Marconi LV from any other transm itter.

On the W-DMX transmitt er this r eceiver is to list en to, pr ess an d r elease the co nf igurat ion butt on. (Thi s button may be labeled

CONFIG, LINK, ASSIGN, FUNCTION, etc. depending on the manufacturer). The W-DMX transmitter will then
broadcast a signal telling all unassigned W-DMX rec eivers, to assign them s elves to this transm itter.

If successful, the Marconi LV ASSIGNED and RF LINK indicators will illuminate.

Indicators: Red: POWER

Blue: ASSIGNED, illuminates when the unit is assigned to a transmitter
Yellow: RF LINK, illuminates when the assigned transmitter is on and within range
Green: DMX512, illuminates when DMX512 is available at the output

Power in: 12 to 24 VDC or 9 to 18 VAC, 100 mA, Polarity independent (internal diode bridge)

Color: Black with laser engraved no menclature

Size & weight: 1.5"h X 4.75"d X 3.5"w, 1 pound

Mounting: A screw and fender washer are provided to mount the Marconi LV to the h a n d le o f an L ED 3 0 0 p o wer s u p p ly

A 1/2" hole is provided for C clamp or half coupler mounting
Two 3/8" X 3/4" slots are provided for safety cables or other mounting techniques.
